At it from the first Bell

Le'Veon has age on his side but knows he's in for a real scrap against one of the all-time great running backs tonight.

He said: "I think I’ve got a great opponent.

"I get to be in front of a lot of people and showcase my skills and show what I been working hard on.

I understand AP one of those guys — look at his football career — he’s one of those guys that always come in shape, he’s always in better shape than everybody else, he works hard.

"So I just tried my best to meet that level, try to exceed that level if I can."

    Peterson vs Bell

Right, if you'd told us five years ago that this match would be thing we'd have laughed straight in your face.

Two stars of the NFL clash tonight on the bill, with both reportedly still harbouring hopes of returning to football again.

37-year-old AP is a future Hall of Famer, while Bell is still only 30 and has never hit the heights of his heady Steelers days since leaving Pittsburgh in 2018.

It's completely bizarre but that is what Social Gloves is all about – let's see what these two backs have got when that first bell goes.

    Power couple

Austin's wife Catherine will be cheering him on every step of the way tonight from ringside in Cali.

Mrs McBroom is a popular social media star who has a staggering 7.3millon followers on Instagram and has made television appearances as a presenter.

A well-known Canadian actress, she's landing roles in films such as Liln's Blood, Monday Nights At Seven and You Can't Have It.

The happily married couple's channel named 'ACE' has clocked up a whopping 18.5m subscribers, pulling in over four billion views.

    Looking ahead

It's never wise for a boxer to plan two fights ahead (looking at you, Canelo).

But McBroom is already eyeing up a lucrative clash with KSI and hopes he can blow Gib away tonight as a statement.

Austin said: "I hope [KSI] comes out and supports his best friend getting embarrassed and then me and him can line it up in January.

"I'm not looking past him, he's going to bring his A-game and I'm bringing mine.

"What we know about Gib is that he's in shape and he's aggressive but that's not going to win him the fight."

    What they said

Gib has got the gift of the gab ahead of tonight's fight – he might be the underdog, but he knows victory would really spoil the party.

He said: "I'm here to take out the CEO. I've done five fights and I know not to look past my opponents and I'm coming for McBroom's head.

"Him looking past me is a very dangerous game. I'm going to show my experience and I'm going to exploit his weaknesses.

"I saw a lot in his open workout, he showed too much and I'm going to exploit that."

    He's Ad a go

Plenty of pre-fight confidence from Adam Saleh, who takes on McBroom's brother Landon on the undercard.

The 29-year-old YouTuber says he is ready to "spoil the party and shock the world" tonight in California.

Fighting out of Brooklyn, NY, that bout looks a tasty one – a proper East Coast vs West Coast showdown.

Is anyone itching for some boxing action? Us too – not long to wait now.

    Weigh to go

AnEsonGib has shed a stunning FOUR STONE ahead of the huge main event tonight.

The Brit looks in incredible shape heading into his meeting with McBroom – a far cry from his hefty 231lbs frame when he lost to Jake Paul.

Just check out the before and after..

    Final countdown

The first bell of the evening will be around 2am BST/9pm ET, so take a well-earned caffeine break before Cory Wharton and Chase Demoor get us started.

It all got a bit heated at their weigh-in, with Wharton throwing a naughtystraight jab at his opponent during the face-off.

He said afterward: "It was just a quick little something, because he put his hands on me at the first press conference so I'm letting him know I'm not backing down man.

"Saturday we here and I'm ready for this s***. I did what I had to do."

    Feeling blue

Late changes to the card this week, with Malcolm Minikon stepping in at the 11th hour to replace Blueface after he failed to secure a boxing permit.

McBroom's brother Landon takes on Adam Saleh, while there's an eagerly awaited 'Battle of the Running Backs' between NFL pair Adrian Peterson and LeVeon Bell.

      McBroom vs Gib

It's taken more than a year to finally get them into the ring, but YouTube pair AnEsomGib and Austin McBroom are ready to do battle tonight in California.

Originally set to fight last summer, the boxing showdown was postponed after Gib was forced to pull out through injury.

But he looked in supreme shape at the weigh-in on Friday, tipping the scales at 176lbs – a full seven pounds heavier than Austin.

There's been plenty of trash talk in the build-up to this Social Gloves 2 event at the Banc of California Stadium.

Now it's time for the talking to stop and the fighters to settle their differences in the ring.

As well as the main event around 4am GMT/11pm ET, there's a packed undercard of action from 2am.

We'll have more on that later – the countdown is on.
