Barcelona targeting Hakim Ziyech transfer from Chelsea as ‘Plan B’ should they fail to sign Man City star Ferran Torres

BARCELONA are considering a transfer move for Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech, according to reports.

Ziyech, 28, joined The Blues in 2020 but injuries and inconsistent form means he has failed to cement a regular place in the team under Thomas Tuchel.

Barcelona believe he would be an upgrade on their current options and could seek a deal with Chelsea.

But only if they fail to secure a move for Manchester City forward Ferran Torres, reports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona are long-term admirers of Torres and had a transfer bid for him rejected last summer.

But they have reportedly agreed terms with the Spaniard and have submitted an offer of £34million to City.

City could hold out for £42m and that might lead Barca to turn their attention to Ziyech.

The Moroccan signed for Chelsea for £40m but he has just one goal and two assists in ten league games this term.

And his lack of game time has sparked talk of him leaving Stamford Bridge.

Borussia Dortmund are understood to be plotting a January move for the winger with Chelsea said to be open to selling.

As for Torres, injury has kept him out of action in the last few weeks and with Raheem Sterling and Bernado Silva returning to form Torres could continue to struggle for minutes.
