    Good morning football fans

Liverpool beat West Ham 1-0 at Anfield thanks to Darwin Nunez’s winner on 22 minutes.

Newcastle also defeated Everton 1-0 at St James’ Park after Miguel Almiron’s goal in the 31st minute.

Southampton picked up a 1-0 victory at Bournemouth with Che Adams’ winner in the ninth minute whereas Chelsea remained goalless with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Manchester United beat Tottenham 2-0 in a crucial Premier League encounter at Old Trafford with Fred and Bruno Fernandes’ goals.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have made Spurs superstar Harry Kane a “serious contender” as a top transfer target should he decide not to renew his contract, which runs out in 2024.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern are ready and waiting to swoop in if no new deal is signed.

The star striker could be interested to achieve his ambition of winning silverware.

The England captain, who is yet to decide on an extension, was asked ahead of last week’s Champions League match with Eintracht Frankfurt about the Bayern speculation.

Kane said: “I'm focusing on Tottenham Hotspur and trying to do our best. For sure Bayern are a top, top club but all my concentration is on Tottenham.”

And PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo has teased a Premier League move after revealing he held talks with United this summer.

The Red Devils explored the possibility of signing Gakpo when a deal for Antony proved difficult, although they eventually got it over the line.

Southampton were also keen on the winger and rumours had suggested they agreed a £34million fee with the Eredivisie outfit.

Leeds chief Victor Orta travelled to the Netherlands to try to negotiate the transfer, but the forward turned them down after he allegedly refused to board a plane to England to finalise the deal.

Gakpo told The Times: “I was close to leaving, I spoke to Erik ten Hag a few times at Manchester United.

“In the end the deal didn’t go through, which was a shame, for me and my development, and because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but also for PSV, because to transfer a player to Manchester United is a good thing for the club.

“It ended about a week before the end of the transfer window and in that week I had to decide if I would go to Leeds or Southampton. In the end I stayed, but it was a stressful period.”

Finally, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been charged by the FA after being sent off for a furious outburst at the linesman in the 1-0 win over City.

Klopp was fuming at assistant Gary Beswick when he missed a foul on Mohamed Salah by Bernardo Silva.

The German tactician shouted in the linesman's face, leaving referee Anthony Taylor no choice but to show him a red card.

The 55-year-old head coach has until Friday to respond to the FA's charge of improper conduct.

    Man Utd’s Jong shot

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will try to get club chiefs to pursue Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong again in January.

United spent the summer chasing De Jong, 25, and even agreed a £72million deal with Barca, while Chelsea also kept tabs.

However, the midfielder rejected the move and stayed put at the Nou Camp, despite a row with the Catalan club over £17m of unpaid wages.

    De Gea contract latest

Manchester United will not decide on David de Gea’s future until the winter, claims Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

De Gea’s deal runs out in June but United have the option to extend for an additional year.

Ten Hag said: “We didn’t make a decision on him but what I can say is that I am really happy with David de Gea as a keeper.

“His first two performances of the season were not his best performances but after you see he brings us a lot for the defensive department, gives stability.

“And, as a person, I like him, I can really cooperate with him really well but first we go to the winter and then we will talk about how [to] deal with such situations.

“In this moment we only think about performing, we have a lot of games to go, so I don’t want to get that interfered by talks, we have to focus on football and performances, not on negotiating. That’s what we have to do now”

    Harry up man

Manchester United should splash the cash for Harry Kane, according to ex-Red Devils and Tottenham star Teddy Sheringham.

Sheringham told Gambling: “If they’re going to go out and break the bank for someone, go out and get Harry Kane.

“He’s the type of centre-forward they lack, a proper professional, he leads the line and you’ll always get 100% out of him.

“He’s a proper player, so go break the bank for him. I know that’s going to upset the Tottenham fans but we’re talking about Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“They should be doing this sort of thing instead of spending money on players who only might do the job for you”

    Costa is back

Chelsea legend Diego Costa was caught in a heated row during Wolves’ match against Crystal Palace last night.

Both gave as good as they got and referee David Coote gave the pair of them a telling-off.

The Eagles would go on to win the game thanks to their second-half comeback with goals coming from Eberechi Eze and Wilfried Zaha

    Bukayo Saka reminder

Chelsea may launch a shock offer for Arsenal star Bukayo Saka just as Liverpool’s hopes of landing the winger fade.

The Gunners, however, remain confident of tying Saka, 21, to a new deal.

But CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs suggests the Blues’ owner Todd Boehly regards the England international as an ideal recruit for Graham Potter’s squad.

The West Londoners’ main hope would surely be to dangle a lucrative contract for a talented player tipped to be one of England’s main men at the upcoming 2022 World Cup.

Reported interest from Liverpool and Manchester City has faded, though

    More on Beale

Beale himself is reported to be keen on making the move to Molineux.

As a result, they are prepared to pay the hefty compensation needed to prise him away from Loftus Road.

Former Spain boss Julen Lopetegui snubbed the chance to take over at Wolves earlier this month.

Ex-Wolves gaffer Nuno Espirito Santo emerged as another potential candidate, before Wolves made the decision to swoop for Beale.

He left his position as Steven Gerrard's assistant manager at Aston Villa in June to become a boss himself.

He has quickly made his mark in his short time as a gaffer.

QPR are just three points off the top of the Championship, having played two games less than current league leaders Blackburn.

BREAKING – Wolves to make Beale next boss

Wolves are reportedly set to trigger Michael Beale's QPR release clause and make him their next boss.

The Molineux club had made Beale their top candidate to take over, as exclusively revealed by SunSport.

And now the Premier League strugglers are poised to trigger the release clause in his QPR contract, according to talkSPORT.

Beale, 42, only joined the Hoops in June on a three-year deal but has impressed by guiding them to sixth in the Championship table.

He also speaks Portuguese — like 11 of the club’s first-team squad — thanks to a spell coaching Brazilian giants Sao Paulo.

Wolves see him as the progressive, hands-on coach they need.
