Giannis Antetokounmpo signs record $228 million contract extension
Giannis Antetokounmpo is staying with the Milwaukee Bucks long-term.
The two-time NBA MVP will sign a max five-year contract extension with the Bucks, Antetokounmpo announced on Twitter. It will be worth a record $228.2 million and ensures the Bucks will be NBA title contenders for years to come.
“This is my home, this is my city.. I’m blessed to be able to be a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 5 years. Let’s make these years count. The show goes on, let’s get it,” Antetokounmpo wrote.
Antetokounmpo, 26, had until Monday to agree to the extension. He could have hit unrestricted free agency next summer and changed the entire landscape of the NBA, but he is staying put.
