It’s not secret that this tournament hasn’t gone well for England.

On the back of Eddie Jones’ sacking and the appointment of Steve Borthwick, it’s been an inconsistent run for the side.

They began their campaign with defeat to Scotland, then beat Italy and Wales before the hammering to France last week, going down 53-10.

Today will be a chance to restore some pride, but it won’t be easy.

These two sides have had differing campaigns. England are fourth in the table and are way off the pace of what we’ve often been used to.

Ireland, however, are on the brink of victory. They could lift the trophy this evening.

If France beat Wales – which they likely will – then victory will secure the Grand Slam. But England are here to spoil the party.

Good afternoon everyone and Welcome to Sportsmail’s live coverage of Ireland vs England in the Six Nations this afternoon.

It’s not been pretty for England. It probably won’t be today. But Ireland fans are hoping.

We’ll see.
