  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    55. Frabotta cross is floated into Ronaldo, who tries to leap into outer-space again but can't quite connect to this header.

Kulusevski then plays the ball back into the box but Frabotta's outstretched boots can't make it.

    Juve are fighting back.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    53. Up the other end now and Ronaldo cuts inside to see his shot deflected over the crossbar.

Similar to the first half, the pace of this game remains relentless.

The dull, pedestrian Serie A of the old days seem to be dead, based on this game.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    52. Another chance for Sampdoria – do not adjust your laptops.

It was Gaston Ramirez whose dancing feet got him into a shooting position just outside the box, but his effort goes wide.

    The changes are working, Claudio!

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    51. Good play from Samp.

Bereszynski crosses a ball into the area which Bonazzoli flings a leg at, but hits it over on the half volley

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    49. Bonazzoli, who now has a strike partner, drives down the right but his pass to Thorsby is cut out in the box.

It appears Sampdoria have now switched to some sort of 4-3-1-2. It will be interesting to see if the Tinkerman's changes come off.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    47. CHANCE!

Aaron Ramsey, pulling the strings from midfield again, slides in Gianluca Frabotta, whose effort is denied from the keeper from fairly close-range.

Juve starting the second half how they started the first.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    46. Mehdi Leris, who was good in the first half, is off for Fabio Quagliarelli.

And there's some familiar names for Southampton fans, as Maya Yoshida and Gaston Ramirez also come on.

They replace Lorenzo Tonelli and Fabio Depaoli.

Remember, Serie A elected to have five subs allowed this season.

  • HT: JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

The players are out and there's a triple change for Ranieri's Sampdoria!

  • HT: JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

The new manager – but very familiar face – reintroduces himself to the Juve faithful at the beginning of the game.

  • HT: JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

As energy waned towards the end of the half, the performance levels dropped slightly, but do not be mistaken, Juve were very good.

  • HT: JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

Not a shot on target from the visitors in that first half, but remember Fabio Qualiarella, who can boast 146 Serie A goals (many for Juventus), is on Sampdoria's bench.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has been on a personal mission to find the net and has come close on no less than three occasions.

One was just wide, one effort slammed the crossbar, and another shot had to be beaten away by Audero.

  • HT: JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

An incredibly watchable first half comes to an end, and Pirlo can be very happy with that.

For much of the first 25 minutes, the hosts were thrilling with crisp passing and some outstanding attacking football.

Dejan Kulusevski has a goal on his debut but his fellow first-gamer Weston McKennie has impressed in the centre as well.

As for Sampdoria – who did improve as the half went on – the message from Ranieri, you imagine, will be clear: Dilly-ding, dilly-dong!

  • HALF TIME – JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    44. Bonazzoli wins it in the middle and it's a counter attack!

He finds Depaoli who comes in from wide but fires it just past the post.

    It's 88 games in Serie A without a goal, Depaoli…

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    42. The new signings are having some good moments.

First, Kulusevski tricks his way into the area but his low cross is blocked.

Then McKennie goes on a marauding run through the centre but fires his shot over.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    39. OUCH!

The ball is bouncing in the air Ronaldo looks favourite.

But BOSH – across comes Tonelli to remind the Portuguese that he really is just human like the rest of us.

Serie A's top scorer from last season looks fine after a few seconds.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    39. Leris, who looks a tricky customer, is trying to make things happen down the left.

The left back Augello is once again quite high up the pitch but can't meet the pass.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    37. Frabotta ball in is headed out by Liverpool-linked Omar Colley.

Rabiot's resulting shot is blocked and deflects out wide.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    36. Kulusevski, whose not been too involved since his goal, tries to whisk a ball into the area for Ronaldo.

It's not a bad delivery at all but is intercepted by Tonelli.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    36. Sampdoria counter led by Leris breaks down.

Perhaps the most impressive thing from the hosts is that even with all their domination and free-flowing attacking play, they do not look susceptible to Sampdoria counter-attacks

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    34. SO CLOSE!!

Ramsey has the ball in the area and slide it across the box.

It takes a deflection and falls perfectly for Ronaldo, who was charging into the area like a steam train.

He just swept it wide, and if anything came onto it too fast.

    He's hungry tonight, old CR7.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    33. 222 passes by Juve so far with 90% accuracy.

That just about spells out the confident way they've been popping the ball about.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    30. Bonazzoli, who has been isolated up front for much of the game for Ranieri's team, received the ball not far outside the area.

A bit overexcited to even have the ball in a good area, he swings a shot wide.

    Much better from Sampdoria.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    28. Corner is cleared and then knocked back into the box.

Flag goes up again but Chiellini had a lose arm which hit Fabio Depaoli.

He was hurt for a few seconds but is back on his feet. No action taken from the referee, who saw it just as a coming together.

  • JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA

    28. Just a touch of Sampdoria pressure here. They have another corner
