Man Utd fans spot way Rashford red card could have been even WORSE as Hojlund incident leaves them 'relieved' | The Sun
MANCHESTER UNITED fans have spotted a way that would have made Marcus Rashford's red card feel even worse.
The forward was dismissed in the Red Devil's shocking 4-3 defeat at the hands of Copenhagen in the Champions League.
United had started the match the better side as they raced into a 2-0 lead with Rasmus Hojlund netting both goals.
However, the Danish side were given a way back into the tie when Rashford saw red in the 42nd minute.
The England international was dismissed by the referee for catching Elias Jelert with his arm according to Uefa, although it looked like it was for a studs-up tackle.
However, before Donatas Romas stopped play for a VAR review on the challenge United flooded forward on a counterattack.

The move saw Hojlund with a chance to score only to drag his effort wide.
However, United supporters have expressed their relief that he did miss as it mean that he would have had a hat-trick goal ruled out.
One fan posted: "The more I've dwelt on the Marcus Rashford red card, the more I'm relieved Rasmus Hojlund didn't finish his run with a goal to complete his hat-trick, only to have VAR void it to deem a challenge not even called as a foul as a sending off.
"Fear my head would have exploded."

Following the decision, Copenhagen dragged themselves level before Bruno Fernandes fired United back into the lead from the penalty spot.
However, it would not be enough for Erik ten Hag's side as the hosts scored twice in the last ten minutes of normal time to win the game.
Ten Hag had his own complaints about the officiating of the match as he claimed that two of Copenhagen's goald were offside.
