Mauricio Pochettino's PSG exit turns ugly over massive compensation fee after ex-Tottenham manager is 'sacked' | The Sun

MAURICIO POCHETTINO'S proposed exit from Paris Saint-Germain has hit a snag over his compensation fee, according to reports.

Poch was reportedly sacked by the Ligue 1 club last week after failing to lead them to Champions League glory last season.

The 50-year-old Argentine won the French top-flight title with the Parisiens but it wasn't enough for him to stay on as boss.

It seemed to be an amicable split after both parties agreed on a severance package.

However, AS now claim Poch's exit talks with PSG are turning sour due to a dispute over his departure fee.

The figure was set at £17million, but PSG now want to slash that figure .

This doesn't sit well with Pochettino, who has no intention of leaving for less than the agreed upon price.

It's not the first time the Argentine chief has been awarded a hefty severance package.

Spurs handed him £19.5m when they axed him in 2019.

Both PSG and Poch will be hoping they can reach an agreement to move forward on their respective paths.

PSG want Poch gone swiftly so they can replace him with Christophe Galtier – who is now the favourite for the job.

The Ligue 1 champions were eyeing Zinedine Zidane, but he's reportedly intent on bagging the France job and will snub any offer from the capital.

And Poch isn't short on offers either with Athletic Bilbao leading the race to acquire his services.
