Mike Dean takes ages to spray pitch then blows for full-time as he goes 'full Mike dean' in Man City win over Leicester

MIKE DEAN produced a moment of classic trolling as he made Manchester City and Leicester wait to resume play to spray lines on the pitch – only to immediately blow for full time.

Ref Dean has gained a reputation for stealing the limelight in even the biggest matches with his no-nonsense approach to job.

But he was virtually anonymous during City's 1-0 win over the Foxes which leaves the club on the verge of winning the Premier League.

Vincent Kompany's stunning long-range shot decided the game and was the magical moment that was sure to dominate the headlines around the world.

But Dean, 50, had one last chance to make his mark as the match enter the final minute of time added on at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola's side won a free-kick down near the corner flag as the desperately tried to wind down the clock to secure a vital three points which saw them climb above Liverpool back at the top.

City were about to re-start play with a short pass, only for the official to stop them in their tracks to insist on spraying foam on the pitch to mark where the ball should be placed.

He then marched the full ten-yards before carefully spraying another line on the surface and spent several seconds ordering the Leicester players back the full distance.

And only when he was fully satisfied all was correct did he whistle for City to take the free-kick.

They duly did so, but within a second Dean immediately blew for full-time with the ball hardly moving a couple of inches.

His insistence on getting involved to ensure everything was completely correct before then calling a halt to the game was greeted with delight by social media.
