'One of the great stories to tell' – Hollywood star Jared Leto reveals why he wants to play Conor McGregor in biopic

OSCAR-WINNING actor Jared Leto has revealed why he is desperate to play Conor McGregor in a biopic of the UFC legend.

The Hollywood star revealed his love of MMA, hailing the accomplishments of Dubliner McGregor as "extraordinary".

And now, in an interview for Sky Sports, the 50-year-old, who has accepted an invitation to train with McGregor, has opened up on what it would mean to bag the role.

He said: "It is one of the great stories to tell, and probably one of the great roles to play.

"He started from nothing and really willed himself to power and achieved things that few have even attempted.

"He is an incredible character, a colourful character, I think it would make a great film to be honest.

"I would love to see the movie even if I wasn't a part of it.

"It's one for the ages, and it's all because of him, just fascinating."

Leto already revealed his desire to play McGregor on-screen last week.

And following the news McGregor personally invited him to join him in training as he tweeted: "Jared Leto, I invite you to come and practice the part with me!"
