Rio Ferdinand reveals 'dream signing Ten Hag needs' at Man Utd as Red Devils step up transfer bid for striker | The Sun
FORMER Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand has revealed who his 'dream' summer signing would be for the Red Devils.
In an exclusive interview with TNT Sports, the 44-year-old explained why he's desperate to see Erik ten Hag sign a striker.
And the six-time Premier League champion reckons Harry Kane would be the perfect addition.
Ferdinand stated: "Harry Kane would be my dream signing."
England's captain has already been called out by other ex-Premier League stars such as Wayne Rooney to make a move to Man Utd.
Ferdinand said: "It's been well documented that Manchester United need a No. 9. The striker they had at the club last season [Wout Weghorst] did not score a single goal.

"There will be no bedding in period, he [Kane] knows the Premier League inside out so there will be no acclimatisation issues.
"That's what Manchester United needs right now and that's what Ten Hag needs."
While Kane is Ferdinand's No1, the TNT pundit added: "Victor Osimhen would be a great addition, too."
Tottenham captain Kane's contract runs out next summer meaning that Spurs risk losing him for nothing if they do not cash in over the coming weeks.

However, the club's chairman Daniel Levy is keen to keep their record goalscorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.
Manchester United are understood to have made inquiries earlier in the summer about his availability and remain interested.
But if they were to make a move for Kane, who is in line to beat Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League tally of 260 goals, they would have to battle Bayern Munich for his signature.
Ferdinand believes Ten Hag's side needs a top striker to close the gap to last season's titles winners and bitter rivals Manchester City.
The Red Devils got off to a rocky start at the beginning of last season losing their first two Prem matches.
Ultimately they finished 14 points off City who completed a historic Treble.
However, Manchester United did do enough to secure a place in next season's Champion League and Ferdinand has high hopes for Ten Hag's side.
He added: "A trophy is a must. You would like to think they can improve on the League Cup and target the FA Cup or even the Champions League!
