Sunday racing tips: A Sunday longshot to fill your pockets at Newmarket from Jack Keene
I THINK this year's 1000 Guineas is ripe for an upset.
I have respect for the exciting Qabala, Aidan O'Brien's Just Wonderful and Group 1 winner Skitter Scatter.
But Sheila Lavery's LADY KAYA (3.35 Newmarket) makes plenty of appeal at double figure odds.
She thrashed the Oaks favourite Pink Dogwood by 10 lengths at the Curragh last year before acquitting herself well in Group company.
She didn't quite look the finished article as a juvenile, and on the evidence of her hugely impressive comeback win over 7f at Leopardstown (well-backed) last month she looks to have improved from two to three.
I have no doubts whatsoever about her ability to stay a mile; she is by the speedy Dandy Man but related to some middle distance performers.
Sunday's each-way fancy

She likes to race prominently, and in a race where there mightn't be a great deal of pace she should be ideally positioned.
Thirteen years on from Speciosa's memorable victory for Pam Sly, I reckon another small yard can bag the big one.
