Tyson Fury reveals how Billy Joe Saunders will give Canelo Alvarez a ‘boxing lesson’ in 8 May super-fight

TYSON FURY believes pal Billy Joe Saunders will give Canelo Alvarez a 'boxing lesson' in their May 8 showdown.

The pair will lock horns in Texas next month in a unification super-middleweight mega-fight.

And Fury is expecting his fellow Brit to retain his unbeaten professional record with a shock victory over the 30-year-old Mexican champ.

The Gypsy King – who is training with Saunders in Las Vegas – told Behind The Gloves: "I think Billy Joe gives him a boxing lesson.

"Everyone raves on about Canelo and how good he is, but every time Billy Joe steps into the pressure cooker he delivers, much like myself.

"He's going to shock a lot of people and it's gonna be an easier fight than people think.

"I'm gonna be there and I'm gonna hold them belts with him when we win."

Welwyn warrior Saunders, 31, is confident of shocking the world and handing the hard-hitting Canelo his second professional loss.

He told talkSPORT: “I’m the seventh Brit he’s faced, he’s dealt with six of them very comfortably.

“The Brits like dancing and moving and thinking they’ve gotta run away, but I will be there for him to hit.

“I will be in range for him to hit. I’ll be setting traps, the same as he’ll be setting traps.

"Brain over brawn here. Brain wins this, technical thinking wins this."

Canelo's WBA, WBC and The Ring crowns are on the line while Saunders is protecting his WBO title held since May 2019.

The WBC revealed a special Mestizo belt is also up for grabs, recognising the significance of two important dates in the Mexican calendar.

Eddie Hearn is hoping to get 60,000 fans inside the AT&T Stadium – home of the Dallas Cowboys – in Arlington.

Saunders is currently deep into his training camp out in Nevada – working out at the UFC Performance Institute.

And he was joined in the gym by WBC heavyweight king Fury as the 6ft 9ins giant prepares to take on Anthony Joshua this summer.
