UFC legend Ronda Rousey slams 'bandwagon' MMA fans and claims WWE ones have much more ‘respect for legends’ | The Sun
RONDA ROUSEY has blasted UFC followers and claims WWE fans have much more ‘respect for legends’.
The MMA icon made headlines around the world when she swapped the octagon for the squared-circle back in January 2018.
The 35-year-old left Dana White’s promotion after a legendary run in the octagon six years ago following back-to-back defeats to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
Rousey, a UFC Hall of Famer, then enjoyed an epic run in the wrestling ring that led to an historic main event at WrestleMania against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in 2019, a match that she was pinned by Becky Lynch for the belt.
“Rowdy” then said she was taking time away from wrestling to start a family with her husband Travis Browne with the couple celebrating the arrival of their baby girl La’akea last September.
But despite embracing motherhood, the lure of another Mania moment proved too tempting to turn down as she returned to WWE to win the Royal Rumble back in January.

Rousey lost the WWE Smackdown Title to Liv Morgan at Money in the Bank and has lost both of her rematches.
However, she will get another shot on October 8 with the pair due to battle it out in an Extreme Rules match.
Ahead of that bout, the American has been speaking about what the differences are between UFC and WWE fans during a recent live stream – and she did not hold back.
Rousey said: “I would say that the WWE fans care more about the wrestlers than the UFC fans care more about the fighters.

“UFC fans have much less respect for the veterans and legends of the sport than WWE fans do.
“A lot of UFC fans are kind of like bandwagon fans in that way. The second you’re not on top, you’re dead to them.
“WWE fans are like, ‘this is the guy that did this 20 years ago’ and are still really excited whereas UFC fans now are like, ‘Forrest Griffin sucks.’ Uhh, you owe basically the whole sport to him. S*** like that. ‘Anderson Silva sucks. GSP sucks.’
“These are people that elevated the sport and paved the way for everybody else. I don’t see UFC fans having the same respect for people that got the sport to where it is as WWE fans.
“I’m not saying it’s completely absent, I’m just saying I see more respect for legends in WWE fans than UFC fans. There are exceptions to everything.”
