A Place in the Sun guest starts crying as she is ‘overwhelmed by sound of trees’
Jonnie Irwin looked taken aback on A Place in the Sun when a guest told him she had started to cry while viewing a property because of the "sound of trees".
In Thursday's episode of the Channel 4 show (May 13) Jonnie was in France with Steve and Aniko trying to find them a permanent home in Brittany within their £90,000 budget.
The couple were keen on most of the charming cottages he showed them, with the exception of property two, a more modern building that was £13,000 over their budget anyway.
It was property number three, a three-bedroom home on a 1.5-acre plot in the village of Carnoet, that really left them smitten.
Carnoet has a population of just 650 people and the property itself was even more rural, being a five-minute drive away from the middle of the village.
The isolation seemed to tick all of the couple's boxes and Aniko even admitted to welling up with tears before they had stepped a foot inside.
Aniko told the host: "I got emotional because all I could hear was trees…"
Jonnie cut in: "And cows."
Aniko laughed at his interruption, then admitted: "I cried a little."

"She got really excited," explained Steve, who also seemed to love the quaint farmland location.
Inside the house, the front door opened into the lounge diner, and then there was a separate kitchen, a utility room, a downstairs bedroom which was being used as an office, and a toilet.
Upstairs were two further bedrooms and a bathroom.
At the end of the program, Steve and Aniko told Jonnie it was their dream home and they were ready to move to France and escape the rat race back home.
They asked him to put down an offer of £75,000, which was quite a bit below the asking price of £80,175.

Unfortunately, the agent immediately called back and said the offer was rejected and advised the seller would only take £79,000 at the lowest.
Steve and Aniko attempted to go down to £77,000 – but were again turned down.
Unwilling to lose the cottage they had fallen in love with, they took Jonnie's advice and offered £79,000 which was promptly accepted.
Jonnie quipped: "Good, that is the right decision. I’d have thrown you both in the water if you hadn’t said that."
