Andy Cohen Updates 'RHOC' Fans on Cast Shakeup as Heather Dubrow Returns in Season 16
Andy Cohen is the king of Bravo and of The Real Housewives. As one of the executive producers on the latter franchise, he always has the tea and The Real Housewives of Orange County is generating a lot of curiosity. With Heather Dubrow returning to the reality series, fans are speculating how well she will get on with the rest of the ladies. Cohen also updates fans on why they decided to shake things up for season 16.
Why was the ‘RHOC’ cast shaken up?
There had been many rumors that RHOC was in for a major overhaul. Things intensified when the show didn’t start filming when it usually starts filming at the beginning of the year. Cohen even said that producers were taking their time and were in no rush to start shooting the new season. Then in the middle of June, the bombshell dropped that half of the cast had been let go and Dubrow had been asked back to the show.
Kelly Dodd, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Elizabeth Vargas were not asked back for season 16. However, safe and returning to the show were Shannon Beador, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson. Many fans have questioned why this drastic decision and Cohen is finally breaking his silence on why the Orange County-based franchise was given such a shakeup.
“I think it was the right time, not only because I think the fans were asking for it, but it’s always fun to bring back an old friend and see an old friend, but also I think it was a great time to get back to some of the aspirational luxury that the Orange County franchise launched with, and that Heather certainly represents,” Cohen told Entertainment Tonight in an interview.
Cohen also said that fans will be “pleasantly surprised” by the relationship formed by Dubrow and Kirschenheiter.
Shannon Beador could be in trouble
Recently, some troubling news was reported about Beador. The housewife was very open about her troubled marriage that ultimately led to a divorce. Beador has not hidden that her relationship with her ex-husband David is bad and it recently hit new heights. As RHOC Season 16 films, court documents were leaked online revealing that Beador’s orange could be at risk.
In the official docs, Beador alleged that her ex-husband did not sign a waiver to allow two of her underaged daughters to film for the show. David wanted assurance that his ex-wife would not make any negative comments about his new wife.
“My current wife also has two other children of her own that do not need to have their mother exposed to possible disparaging comments made about our family on national television,” the document read according to The Blast.
In the same documents, Beador says that if she can’t film with her kids she would be in breach of her contract and could possibly be fired from the show. The reality star says that RHOC is her main source of income and if she can’t be on the show she wouldn’t be able to earn income.
There has been no official word from Bravo regarding this matter. The Real Housewives of Orange County is expected to start airing on the network sometime later this year.
