BBC Breakfast was left with a presenting shake-up again on Tuesday (August 2) as Jon Kay was missing from the sofa once again.

Instead, temporary host Ben Thompson was forced to step in alongside permanent presenter Sally Nugent – despite Jon only recently landing Dan Walker's old job.

Jon is slated to present the programme from Monday to Wednesday each week, with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt taking over in the latter half of the schedule.

But this week has been one filled with changes, as the weekend also saw Charlie replaced by Roger Johnson.

Some fans at home, however, were loving Ben's input into the show, as one praised on Twitter: "My favourites [are] Ben Charlie and Naga most of the time!"

It comes as Ben announced he was "beating the holiday blues" with Sally after heading to Sicily with his partner Andy Roche and a group of their pals.

Taking to Instagram, Ben shared a sweet snap of him and Andy posing with their arms around each other, both looking dapper in button-up shirts and trousers with a stunning backdrop behind them.

They also shared a glimpse of their incredible swimming pool, and posed in a traditional Italian street packed with cafés as Ben teased: "Already eaten my bodyweight in pasta and cheese. Ciao Sicilia!"

But it was back to work on Monday, as he posted a sweet snap alongside his co-host Sally on the famous red sofa, telling fans: "If anyone’s going to help me shift the post-holiday blues, it’s @sallynugenttv. Morning from @BBCBreakfast, we’re on @BBCOne til 0915."
