BBC Strictlys Claudia Winkleman under fire over unusual outfit choice

Claudia Winkleman, 50, chose to wear a pair of eye-catching silver glittery trousers paired with a blazer, but according to Strictly Come Dancing viewers it was not her best fashion move.

Fans of the BBC show thought the pairing was not in line to her usual style with comments ranging from “bizarre” to others comparing her to a “cotton bud.”

"Not keen on Claudia’s trousers tonight #Strictly," wrote one with another adding: "@bbcstrictly I’d have thought twice about wearing that blazer with those trousers Claudia."

No stranger to the fashion police, Claudia has had her fair share of harsh outfit comments in the past.

She was blasted last year for appearing as if she was going for a workout rather than hosting a dancing competition.

Viewers ripped into her choice of shorts and cardigan combination with one commenting: “Claudia just rocked up from the gym ha ha.”

But equally the fashionista’s brave fashion choices have seen fans flock to get their hands on a similar outfit.

Appearing in a grey sequin shirt from Mint Velvet last year the shirt sold out almost within minutes after her stylish appearance.

It would seem Claudia was not the only star getting slated for poor outfit choices last night though as Richie Anderson and Giovanni Pernice’s Lion King-themed dance routine left many less than impressed.

The duo threw themselves into the movie week theme appearing as Timon and Pumbaa for their Samba to Hakuna Matata but fans were quick to sum up their look as “unforgivable” and resembling their costumes to looking more like a onesie.

One viewer added: "Embarrassing for Gio. I feel it's got a bit ridiculous now. He's clearly not happy."

Meanwhile Tyler West and Dianne Buswell were the judge’s favourite of the night after their impressive Charleston routine.

Results of who will be dancing it out to save their spot on Strictly Come Dancing will kick off tonight at 7:20pm.
