'Below Deck': Kate Chastain Describes Captain Lee's Favorite Meal and the Crew Reveals Their Worst 'Bubble Guts' Experience
Kate Chastain from Below Deck revealed that the Texas-style meal served to guests during the latest episode is one that Captain Lee Rosbach would “love.”
Rosbach was asked to dine with the guests and the theme was “Texas.” He busted out his trademark boots and sat down for the meal.
The surf and turf meal that included a rib-eye steak and lobster hit the spot and Chastain offered that insight during Below Deck Galley Talk. “Captain Lee’s gonna love this meal,” Chastain said as she and Connie Arias watched the latest episode together. “He loves rib-eye.”
Dinner was a success for Captain Lee
“Girl you nailed it with the bone-in rib-eye,” Amy Johnson remarked about chef Rachel Hargrove while watching the episode with brother Kelley.
“Must be good because all I hear are knives and forks,” Rosbach said to the guests during the episode. Of course, the mood changed when the guests asked if someone was still doing the T.W.A.T. tournament. Thankfully the acronym was “Texas Women’s Angler Tournament.”
Arias makes this observation as Rosbach leaves the table at the end of dinner. “His radio is still in his pants so that means he’s leaving on a good note,” she said.

While the meal was a hit, a few crew members dealt with stomach issues. Hargrove described the feeling as “bubble guts,” which was not lost on the Below Deck Galley Talk crew.
“Two people have a UTI and two people have bubble guts,” Arias observed. Elizabeth Frankini and Isabelle “Izzy” Wouters had a UTI. Meanwhile, Hargrove and Ashling Lorger had a lower GI issue.
“It wasn’t even this bad in Thailand!” Chastain exclaimed. The Thailand season started with chef Kevin Dobson dealing with “bubble guts” when the season opened. Other crew members had stomach issues too.
“I once had a UTI and I didn’t realize it,” Chastain said. “It turned into a full-blown kidney infection and I couldn’t walk.” She added laughing, “Humblebrag.”
Bobby Giancola had a pretty bad experience with ‘bubble guts’
The stomach issues during this episode are not lost on the Below Deck Galley Talk crew. They couldn’t help but notice that Frankini perfectly curled her hair despite telling chief stew Francesca Rubi she was too sick with a UTI to work.
“I’ve definitely had bubble guts,” Kelley Johnson admitted to his sister. “It’s not good.” Amy Johnson said, “I don’t wanna know.”
The bubble guts comments prompted deckhand Bobby Giancola from Below Deck Mediterranean to share his own experience from elementary school. “Worst bubble guts I ever had,” he told Colin Macy-O’Toole. “Sixth grade. Field trip. Long story short, I literally made the whole school bus pull over but I just told everybody I threw up. Not out of my a**.”
