BGT respond after it was revealed golden buzzer comedian has Amazon Prime Show

Britain's Got Talent has responded after fans were left frustrated to learn that Axel Blake, who got a golden buzzer on Sunday night, already has an Amazon Prime show.

Comedian Axel Blake charmed the judges with his witty jokes and upbeat personality, so much so that Simon Cowell hit his golden buzzer, sending the act straight to the live semi-finals.

Despite his humble discussion about his career, some viewers were unhappy to discover that Axel is already a successful comedian and even has his own stand-up TV show.

His Amazon Prime show Axel Blake: I’m Not Going to Lie is a recording of his live comedy performance at the O2 Arena in London.

Britain’s Got Talent viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts, one fumed: "Apparently that comedian has already got a stand-up show on Amazon Prime. Yet another wasted golden buzzer. It's an absolute fix. Tom Ball should've got the golden buzzer tonight. #BGT."

While another viewer commented: "So last night there was a golden buzzer for a singer with a net worth of 2 million and a song in one of the biggest movies to ever exist and tonight’s golden buzzer was an award-winning comedian who has an amazon prime show???? wtf is happening this series #BGT."

Britain's Got Talent has now responded and a spokesperson told OK! in a statement: "Anyone can apply for Britain's Got Talent whether they are professional or amateur, irrespective of their experience.

"All contestants are auditioned on merit and judged on their performance on the day and whilst some of the acts appearing on the show may have tasted a level of success, they are not household names. All enter the contest with the hope of elevating their career to the highest level."

It comes as The Greatest Showman star Loren Allred hit back at Britain's Got Talent criticism after she was awarded the golden buzzer by Amanda Holden on Saturday's opening show.

Loren stunned the judges and the audience with a beautiful performance of Never Enough which she also sang in the hit film, The Greatest Showman.

While the audience gave Loren a standing ovation, many fans questioned whether the professional singer should have been given a golden buzzer as she is already a successful, famous singer.

Taking to Instagram on Monday night, Loren, who lives in Brooklyn, New York, shared a message from a fan where it hit back at the criticism.
