Capital FM DJ Roman Kemp lands huge role on new high-energy BBC quiz show | The Sun
HE is hard at work on breakfast radio, and now Roman Kemp is set to become a TV face at teatime too.
I can reveal the Capital FM DJ is to host new BBC One quiz The Finish Line alongside someone else who is used to getting up super early — TV veteran and former Going Live! host Sarah Greene.
A TV insider revealed: “Roman is really excited to be on board with The Finish Line.
“It’s a new show in a prime spot in the schedule, so it has the potential to be huge. Show bosses believe pairing Roman with Sarah is a masterstroke, as it’s not TV’s usual kind of combo.”
Sarah, who was married to the late TV presenter Mike Smith, is 35 years older than Roman, and five years older than his mum, former pop star Shirlie Kemp.
Contestants on the show will compete in a quiz-fuelled race around a track — and the more correct answers they give, the further they progress in the race, with a big cash prize for the winner.

Roman says: “I’m a huge fan of quiz shows and with this being my first as host, I really can’t wait to get stuck in.
“I love that it’s a brand new format but based on an iconic horse-racing fairground game. It’s set to be challenging and unpredictable — we know viewers will be hooked.”
Sarah adds: “This will be fantastic fun. It’s all about high-energy, high-drama racing and quickfire questions, and I’ll be bringing my A-game to ensure that Roman and the contestants are kept on the straight and narrow.”
