Coronation Street Colson Smith drops jaws with weight loss transformation

Coronation Street actor Colson Smith has dropped jaws recently as the soap star showed off his impressive weight loss transformation.

The 21-year-old Coronation Street cast member looked incredible as he sported a fitted suit and waistcoat at The Television and Radio Industries Club Awards.

He looked unrecognisable after shedding an impressive amount of weight.

Colson, who plays police officer Craig Tinker on the soap set in Weatherfield, has been dropping the weight on and off screen.

Craig is shredding pounds after being picked on by his colleagues for poor fitness.

The beloved character has taken up jogging after realising he struggled to chase down shoplifters.

The actor is said to have been going to the gym regularly in order to trim down.

Despite revealing his new exercise regime, Colson also admits that food poisoning caused him to lose one and a half stone in December.

Speaking on his podcast Sofa Cinema Club – which he hosts with Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price the star explained: "I had avoided seafood but I was sat on the beach and I was like, 'How can you not have seafood on the beach?'

Craig's character has made headlines recently after fears the character will die after a 'secret illness'.

Corrie spoilers revealed at the start of the month the character could be set to discover a health issue.

After fighting off two shoplifters, he realised he became short of breath very quickly.

Worrying about it, he decided to visit the doctors sparking concern among fans.

Will Craig discover something is seriously wrong? Or will his weight-loss help the character's health get back on track?
