Coronation Street have seen Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) struggle in recent months, as her friendship with Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) was rocked following the murder of Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni). Regular viewers will remember, Asha and Nina’s friendship turned into a romance earlier this year, but it ended in a break-up. According to ITV’s official soap spoilers, Asha could soon be set to move on with a new friend from college. But, who is this mystery individual? Could Asha be starting a relationship with Seb’s step-sister?
Things have been tense between Asha and Nina in recent months as the pair have struggled with the aftermath of Seb’s murder.
After the teens broke up earlier this year Asha got back together with her nasty ex Corey Brent (Maximus Evans).
However, the villainous Corey went on to kill Seb in a brutal hate-crime attack.
As a result, Nina has been wary of her ex-girlfriend ever since, despite Asha’s attempts to rekindle their romance.
But, according to official soap spoilers, Asha will soon ask Nina for her approval on a new romantic venture.
In the upcoming scenes, after distributing homemade leaflets about Corey, Nina is devastated to discover he has been named in the opening line-up for County.
As a result she vows to name and shame him and takes to social media labelling him a murderer.
Later on, Nina curses herself for giving Corey the opportunity to play the victim and vows he won’t get away with it.
She tries to convince Daniel to run a story, but when that fails and Kevin shows her Corey’s post match press conference Nina declares that she wants to kill him.
Later when she is driving past Seb’s memorial garden she spots Corey in there laughing on his phone and sees red.
After seeing The Gazette is full of Corey scoring a goal in his first match, Nina feels there’s no escaping his smug face.
However, the teen tells Roy Cropper (David Neilson) she intends to make the most of life rather than dwell on pursuing justice.
It’s clear that Roy is hugely relieved to have finally got through to his niece.
Later on, there’s another change in Nina’s life as when Asha reveals she likes a girl she’s met at college, she urges her to go for it.
When Asha receives a text from Nat, the girl at college, suggesting they meet up, she’s thrilled.
The teen swiftly tells Nina she’d like her to come along too as she values her opinion.
However, if Nina goes with Asha to meet Nat, could she discover she’s someone who has a connection to Coronation Street?
The soap recently confirmed Seb’s dad will soon be arriving in town for a reunion with Abi Franklin (Sally Carman).
Could he bring with him a daughter? If so, this could mean Nat is Seb’s step-sister.
If Asha sparks a romance with Seb’s step-sister, this would likely cause tension between Nina and Asha once again.
Could Nina’s anger towards Asha over her initial defence of Corey rise again?
Will the pair end up feuding over this new romance? Viewers will have to tune in to find out their fate.
Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7:30 pm on ITV.
