Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach reveals ‘gross’ item she stole from set after exit
During an interview on This Morning, Coronation Street's Ellie Leach has revealed what she stole from the set after her departure.
The 22 year old actress, who plays Faye Windass, confessed to stealing lots of jumpers and a fake nail from the ITV set to make sure she has memories to keep.
Faye will leave the street next week in emotional scenes after a long 12 years on the show where she has grown up into a young adult.
When she appeared on This Morning with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phil Schofield, she shared the details from her final day on the iconic set.
On Tuesday she told the show: "I took a few of Faye's clothes, which to be honest I wasn't going to because she's not really got the best sense of style. I took a few jumpers to remind me of Faye.
"I had a coat on a few weeks ago and I put my hand in my pocket and was like, what's that?
"I pulled it out and it was a fake nail from when we filmed the Ted storyline from the nail that went down his sink and Craig had to go and get out."
She soon added: "So I said I'm definitely taking that home, a green sparkly nail."
Viewers are watching as Faye is deciding between her long term partner and new fiancée Craig Tinker and the father to her daughter Jackson Hodge.
Ahead of the emotional scenes Ellie has previously said: "It was very, very emotional as obviously Faye is leaving the Street after 12 years, but it's me leaving the Street after 12 years as well.
"The saddest part is where she's in the taxi and we just see Craig on his own walking down the street and she's like stop the car, she gets out and says, 'I'll always love you, I always have and I always will'.
"I think it was just so emotional and you do see there's two people here who do love each other, but there are so many other factors, love isn't always enough and I think you can see that in that last scene."
Recently Faye's life has changed after her daughter Miley came back with dad Jackson Hodge and after some persuasion Faye decided to get to know her daughter.
She also got engaged to her long term partner Craig in some cute scenes, where in Victoria Gardens, Craig popped the question whilst Kirk Sutherland played the guitar and Glenda Shuttleworth sang for the couple.
Coronation Street continues tonight at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
