Corrie spoilers hint Faye Windass prison fate confirmed after sudden Craig split

Coronation Street's Faye Windass is at the mercy of the jury in upcoming scenes, as she faces sentencing for the assault of Adam Barlow.

Faye, played by Ellie Leach, mistakenly attacked the lawyer in the bistro one evening, mistaking him for her former boss Ray Crosby (Mark Crosby).

Ray had attempted to rape her in previous scenes, barricading her in an office before her brother Gary Windass (Mikey North) came to her rescue.

When police started investigating Adam's assault, Gary took the blame, doing time behind bars and maintaining his sister's innocence.

The truth has since come to the surface, however, and now Faye's fate is in the hands of the justice system.

Corrie spoilers have revealed Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) will resolve to quit his job when he realises Faye's criminal status could jeopardise his position as a copper.

When he discusses his plans with Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment), his best mate grows concerned he might be acting too hastily.

Kirk tracks Faye down, finding her in Victoria Gardens and filling her in on Craig's plans to leave the police force behind.

Faye immediately turns to Craig and lets him know she wants to end their relationship, refusing to get in the way of his job.

Later, Faye and Gary stand before the court, where the events of the night in question – Adam's assault – are hashed out.

Gary is eventually given an eight-month sentence for perverting the course of justice and is free to go.

Faye's fate, however, hangs in the balance – will she get sent behind bars?

Later, Gary refuses to accept the outcome of the trial, stricken for his little sister and fearing for her future.

Craig, meanwhile, is furious at Kirk and accuses him of bringing about the end of his relationship with Faye.

The copper then cooks up a plan to send letters to Faye in secret, while continuing to work in law enforcement.

Could Craig similarly risk getting locked up?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
