Viewers of the BBC one soap suspect that Tina Carter (played by Luiza Bradshaw-White) will “come back from the dead” at Christmas to teach killer Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) a lesson. EastEnders fans were rocked when Gray murdered Tina after she realised he was behind wife Chantelle Atkins’ (Jessica Plummer) death last year. However, viewers have now suggested Tina survived the attack and will make a comeback for the Christmas Day special to expose Gary for his crimes.

The festive season is only a matter of months away and EastEnders fans have already started speculating about the show’s Christmas Day twist.

Viewers have taken to Twitter to suggest that Tina is actually still alive and has been waiting to return to the soap to confront Gary for what he did to her and Chantelle.

One fan tweeted: “I strongly believe #TinaCarter will come back from the dead to get her revenge on that evil Gray Atkins and I hope this is the case for a future storyline.”

Another suspicious viewer said: “I like #Gray don’t know why, just do, but having said that, am really looking forward to him getting found out .”

Tina was killed by serial killer Gray Atkins just before New Year after she figured out he had something to do with wife Chantelle’s death.

Gray has been able to convince the Carter family that Tina ran away because she was the prime suspect in the attack on Ian Beale.

A third fan added: “The lead up to the big Christmas story that Tina has been dead months and Gray did it now begins.”

“I’m convinced Tina isn’t dead. Maybe she’ll return on Halloween or Christmas. #EastEnders.”

So could it be the Christmas Day episode that sparks Gray Atkins’ downfall?

Gray has claimed three lives in the past year, including his own wife Chantelle.

Once Tina discovered Gray had killed his wife, he murdered her too and disposed of her body before making it appear as though she had done a runner.

The killer’s latest victim was Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) who he pushed in front of a train after growing increasingly jealous of his romance with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty).

Speculation from fans come after the show’s executive producer Jon Sen told The Mirror that Gray’s reign of terror was gradually coming to an end.

He said: “We have obviously got the culmination of, or the building to the culmination of, the Gray storyline. That takes its kind of next chapter.

“Obviously that has been a very long story arc and it has taken many twists and turns.

“But we are going back to the grassroots of the story really, and taking it back to its origins with a fascinating turn of events for the Atkins family.”

EastEnders fans will remember the lawyer attacked Tina before wrapping her up in a shower curtain and driving off with her body in the boot of his car.

But, viewers didn’t actually witness Gray burying Tina’s body and believe she has survived the attack.

Tina thought she was in the frame for Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) assault and may fear for her life if she returns to Walford.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
