ITV has announced that they will be hosting an 'All Star Summer across The Emmerdale Village Tour and Coronation Street Experience, which will see cast members join some of the tour groups.

The ‘Star Tours' have already proved a hit with Corrie fans, and Emmerdale lovers will now be given the opportunity to meet some of their favourite soap stars too.

Every weekend this summer, guests will finish their tour of either Emmerdale's Yorkshire village or Corrie's famous cobbled street by being surprised by a top-secret member of the cast for a very special meet, greet and photo opportunity.

Speaking about the new 'Star Tours', Neil Curry, Guest Experience Manager from Continuum Attractions says: “Our guests tell us they want to get as close to the shows as possible, they also say that meeting the cast is one of their all-time ‘bucket list wishes’, so we thought we’d turn the Summer into a soap meet and greet spectacular!

"It’s genuinely the best fun to see the surprise and excitement when our visitors come face to face with one of their favourite cast members on the actual set where they work."

James Penfold, ITV’s Controller Commercial, Brand Licensing added: “We’re really excited to say that some of the biggest names on our shows will be waiting to say hi to those lucky enough to get these tickets.

"These are once-in-a-lifetime moments for so many people, a lot who have travelled from the other side of the world to visit us. It’s definitely going to be a Summer to remember."

With up to 1,000 guests visiting the sets each day, fans should book tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. And those who are fans of both soaps and wish to tour both sets will get a 15% discount on their booking.

Coronation Street is set for a dramatic return in the next few weeks, with Claire Sweeney revealing that her character Cassandra "Cassie" Plummer will be returning to screens on 16 August.

Appearing on Wednesday's Lorraine, the actress said: "I'm back on August 16th on screen and I'm back in the thick of filming, working with the wonderful Alan Halsall [Tyrone]. He’s so good, and Maureen [Lipman, who plays Evelyn] , and Sally Carman [Abi Franklin] as well, I love it."

Emmerdale is also set for drama in coming episodes as village mechanic Dan Spencer, is left feeling guilt-ridden after being charged with GBH for punching Lloyd Sawyer last week.
