Emmerdales Lucy Pargeter bids moving goodbye to on-screen son Danny Miller

Danny Miller bowed out of Emmerdale in last night's episode (Monday 6 December) during emotional scenes with on-screen mum Lucy Pargeter.

The 30-year-old actor – who is currently a contestant in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here – played Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap since 2008 and spoke about the close bond he'd formed with co-stars in a tearful video of himself taken on his last day of shooting.

Lucy, who plays Chas Dingle, took to Twitter after the emotional episode aired to bid Danny a moving goodbye.

She wrote: "My beautiful @DannyBMiller flew back for his audition in the middle of his family Holliday. He had a twinkle in his eye and a thirst and talent for acting."

Lucy, 44, continued: "I am so proud of the MAN he has become. Father, husband to be and one of those people in life I’ve been honoured to work with x."

Emmerdale fans flocked to the comments in support of Lucy and Danny, praising them both for their emotional performances.

One wrote: "I broke my heart crying at his final scenes, I laughed when you said you would slash his types but strange not seeing him…hope he returns one day….he's great in the castle….you pair played such a great mother and son role."

While another said: "Just loved your mother/son relationship. Danny is an amazing man and not good enough and an amazing actor. He will be sorely missed. We are all so proud of him and wish him well in his next adventures."

A third wrote: "Danny is total legend and your mother/son relationship was lovely to watch change over the years from wayward teen to loving son."

Danny's character left after the death of on-screen boyfriend Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon). He was murdered in recent scenes by resident serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) who is set to cause even more trouble this Christmas.

Regarding his exit, Danny posted an emotional video where he gushed about his colleagues and co-stars.

He said: "This cast and crew have been amazing for me. I’ve learnt so, so much here. I’ve made so many lifelong friends. I already miss them."

Discussing his decision to leave, Danny continued: “It was a very, very tough decision for me to make for my new family – Steph [Jones] and my baby.

"It was a very difficult decision to make because I was only going to have two weeks with me baby before I was whisked off to the Castle in Wales.”

"Steph pretty much forced me (to go on the show) to be fair,” Danny joked. “I hope I’m entertaining people in there in a different way to the way Aaron’s entertained people."
