2. Verity gets suspicious

But Maxine's plans could all be in vain as Eric remains a step ahead of her.

Knowing it's only a matter of time until he's caught, Eric opts for a thorough approach and destroys all CCTV footage of a spiking attempt.

He's not thorough enough – a shocking giveaway from him leaves his schemes exposed and his sister Verity Hutchinson (Eva O'Hara) knows something isn't right.

Verity's suspicions begin when a social post for Goldie McQueen's self-defence class is littered with nasty comments.

One username stands out to her and she's forced to question which side she's on.

In later scenes, Eric is reeling from the loss of his laptop and searches high and low alongside Verity.

This leads her to have doubts about whether she's doing the right thing.

Could she be the one to expose Eric?

How will he react?

3. Olivia is out of control

Meanwhile, Olivia Bradshaw continues to behave erratically as she's determined to evolve in her career.

The teacher played by Emily Burnett turns to Hollyoaks High headmistress Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace) for a raise.

But when her request is declined, Olivia settles on a drastic plan to make room the school's budget.

Once again, she enlists the help of Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan).

4. And Charlie tries to stop her

But there's no guarantee Charlie will go along with her plan.

In later scenes, he even battles with doing the right thing and his need for self-preservation while pondering Olivia's request.

He makes a tough decision later on.

And the consequences could be dire.

5. Zain and Misbah butt heads

Elsewhere in Chester, Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana) continues to struggle his eating disorder and his mother Misbah (Harvey Virdi) remains worried.

Zain Rizwaan (Jonas Khan) enlists Yazz Cunningham's help to take her mind off Imran with a romantic getaway.

However, Misbah's relationship with Zain comes second when she receives surprising news of Imran's admission to the clinic.

All should be well and yet Zain begins to question how Imran was accepted so quickly at the clinic and Misbah is disappointed by his reaction.

Their bond becomes strained when it's clear he disagrees with how she approaches Imran's eating disorder.
