He went on to praise his co-star writing: “His humility serves as a reminder to all of us that no matter how far we may go in our careers, it’s essential to stay connected to the people and experiences that shape us.”

Rishi succeeds Tom Brittney, who played Reverend Will Davenport for six series.
Series nine will open with Tom’s final episodes, where his character is faced with a life-changing offer.
Tom, 33, announced he was leaving the ITV show in July, stating that it was “time for the baton to be passed on to another actor”.
In a statement, he wrote: “I’ve had the most incredible time playing Will Davenport for the last five years,
“I got to solve crimes with my best friend and work with the best cast and crew I could ever ask for. I’ll miss it more than anything. But it’s time for the baton to be passed, as it once was to me, and I’m so excited for Rishi to join the Grantchester family.”
Grantchester will be released in 2024, but past series can be found on ITVX.
