Hollyoaks’ real-life soap siblings as stars’ secret family connections exposed
Hollyoaks fans find it hard to keep up with all of the drama between the families, so it comes as no surprise that the soap's real-life siblings may have passed them by.
Despite the revenge plots and feuds between the village residents and their loved ones, in the end, families like the McQueens and Hutchinsons remember that blood is always thicker than water.
But amidst the drama, viewers of the Channel 4 soap might be shocked to discover just how many of their favourite stars share the small screen with their real-life siblings.
From Jorgie and Kirsty-Leigh Porter to Greg Wood and Matt Milburn, plenty of the actors have followed the same soap path as their relatives.
Daily Star takes a look at the Hollyoaks cast and their family members who have also made it onto a beloved soap.
Nick and John Pickard
Hollyoaks actors Nick and John Pickard played half brothers in the Channel 4 soap but they're, in fact, brothers in real life.
Nick, 45, has played fan favourite Tony Hutchinson since the serial drama first aired back in 1995.
John, 43, was cast to play Tony's estranged brother Dominic Riley in 2005 and he stuck around until 2010.
Speaking of his decision to quit the soap, he said: "I've really enjoyed my time on Hollyoaks and I shall be very sad to leave, but after five years, it's definitely time to move on.
"I've loved working with Nick and it's been great living in the North — Liverpool is such a great city and we've both made friends for life up here."
Since leaving the show, John has appeared in Casualty as well as several stage shows up and down the country.
Nick remains the longest-running-serving Hollyoaks cast member and Tony is currently involved in a major storyline regarding in the paternity of his wife Diane's unborn baby.
Jorgie and Kirsty-Leigh Porter
Blonde bombshell Jorgie Porter joined the cast of Hollyoaks as Theresa McQueen back in 2008.
Her younger sister Kirsty-Leigh Porter made her debut on the Channel 4 show as Leela Lomax back five years later in 2013.
Jorgie, 33, took a break from the soap between 2016 and 2020 and made an explosive comeback in October last year to mark the show's 25th anniversary.
During her four-year hiatus from Hollyoaks village, Jorgie appeared in several reality TV shows including I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Dancing on Ice, Celebrity First Dates and Celebrity Haunted Mansion.
Kirsty-Leigh, 32, is currently on maternity leave after welcoming a baby with her partner Paul Barber in December.
She kept her pregnancy a secret from fans after her baby girl Penny-Leigh was tragically delivered stillborn in December 2018.
Both Theresa and Leela have been involved in major storylines over the years.
Kirsty-Leigh's character famously ended up in a love triangle with her daughter Peri and village drug dealer Jordan Price.
Elsewhere, Theresa and the rest of the McQueen family have recently been blackmailed by serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rowle).
Greg Wood and Matt Milburn
Real-life Manchester brothers Greg Wood and Matt Milburn have both starred in Hollyoaks.
Matt played student Joe Spencer from 2003 to 2006 when his cheeky character was killed in a fire at the Dog In The Pond.
Older sibling Greg, 41, portrayed the role of bad-boy gangster Trevor Royle who was stabbed to death on his wedding day by evil teen Nico Blake in 2016.
The dynamic duo have also both appeared in rival soap Coronation Street, but they never appeared in the same scene.
Greg played the part of nasty loan shark Rick Neelan on and off from 2009 until 2020 when he was murdered by Gary Windass.
Matt portrayed Weatherfield County footballer Tommy Orpingham who regularly makes guest visits to his adoring fans on the street.
The footballer has made regular appearances in the show since 2016 when he hired Michelle Connor as his wedding planner, leaving her then-husband Steve McDonald starstruck.
Matt has also played vet Nicky Pritchard on Emmerdale in 2011.
Daisy Turner, Lacey Turner and Lily Harvey
Hollyoaks beauty Daisy Turner joined the Channel 4 soap back in 2011.
The blonde beauty played Jenny Houston in the Channel 4 serial drama.
Her time on the show was short-lived as Jenny was killed by villain Silas as part of a long-running storyline.
Daisy, now 30, hasn't appeared in many programmes since her stint in Hollyoaks, but she did go on to appear in a short film named You Got The Time?
Her older sister Lacey Turner has played the role of Stacey Slater in rival soap EastEnders on-and-off for 17 years and has gone on to win numerous awards for her stint in the show.
Lacey and Daisy's younger sibling Lily Harvey has also featured in the BBC One serial drama.
Lily, who uses her mother's last name for acting work, was just nine years old when she joined the cast of EastEnders.
The actress played Shenice Quinn, the daughter of Kat Slater's (Jessie Wallace) pal Martine for just over a year.
Lily is now 21 and doesn’t appear to be acting anymore.
Hannah and Kara Tointon
Hannah Tointon is best known for playing Katy Fox, the younger sister of established character Warren, in Hollyoaks from 2007 to 2008 and again in 2017.
She went on to play the role of an agoraphobic student named Emma Lewis in Doctors after quitting the soap.
The actress went on to play Simon's girlfriend Tara in the third series of Channel 4 sitcom The Inbetweeners.
Hannah, 33, got engaged to Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas in 2017 after meeting on the show in 2012.
Her older sister Kara was an extra in EastEnders back in 1994, when she played a school friend of Sonia Fowler.
She later returned to the show as Dawn Swann in 2005 and she played the iconic role for four years until 2009.
The soap actress and her fiancé Marius Jensen recently welcomed their second son.
Kara, 37, and Marius are already parents to two-year-old son Frey, and they welcomed baby Helly in January.
Jamie Lomas and Charley Webb
Hollyoaks favourite Jamie Lomas has played village bad boy Warren Fox on and off since 2006.
The hunky actor, who shares a child with former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh, had a brief spell in EastEnders as Jake Stone before returning to Hollyoaks in January last year.
Jamie's younger sister Charley Webb has portrayed the role of Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale since 2002.
The brother and sister are extremely close and often share adorable snaps of each other on social media.
To mark Jamie's 45th birthday earlier this year, Charley, 32, shared a couple of adorable snap of them both, including one of the moment he walked her down the aisle at her surprise wedding to Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden.
Jamie looked incredibly proud as he linked arms with Charley.
The soap siren penned in the caption section: "It's my big brother's birthday today.
"The most ridiculously overprotective big brother there is. Literally drives me mad everyday but I do love him."
Charley and Matthew, who plays David Metcalfe in Emmerdale, are parents to three sons, Buster, Bowie and Ace.
