I'm a body language expert and here's how to tell Married At First Sight UK's Jordan wasn't instantly attracted to bride | The Sun

A BODY language expert has claimed Married At First Sight UK groom Jordan wasn't instantly attracted to his new bride Chanita.

The latest series kicked off on E4 last night with 16 new singletons who got hitched – despite being strangers.

After saying "I do", Jordan and Chanita appeared happy in each other's company and were warmly welcomed by their families.

But TV behavioural guru Darren Stanton insists Jordan flashed a "disingenuous smile" when seeing Chanita, suggesting he didn't fancy her.

Chanita on the other hand was very tactile as she got to know her new husband.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, Darren revealed: "Jordan was extremely nervous as he waited to tie the knot.

"He was sweating a lot and we saw him putting his hands in his pockets – this is generally a gesture of anxiousness and an attempt of self-reassurance and one not surprisingly adopted by Jordan given the circumstance he was in. It’s very daunting in anyone’s world to be married, let alone when you’ve never met the other person.

"When Jordan first spotted his bride-to-be, there wasn’t an instant attraction on his part. He flashed a disingenuous smile.

"This is not to say it reflects negative feelings towards Chanita, it could be due to the environment Jordan was in, meaning instead of flashing a smile of genuine joy and happiness, it was forced out of social anxiety and an attempt to avoid embarrassment.

"For Chanita, however, there was an immediate attraction and it was clear she threw herself physically and emotionally into the ceremony. Her smiles and laughter came from a genuine place of happiness.

"She was also a lot more tactile than Jordan, even when they were posing for photographs. Jordan appeared hesitant as he stood there, again with his hands in his pockets, before awkwardly putting one arm around Chanita.

"It was her, who made more of an effort reaching out towards Jordan, but there was still a noticeable distance there between them – this is understandable, though, given that the pair had only just met.

"Of course, it is very early days and love does have the potential to blossom between them as feelings develop and deepen over time.

However, from first impressions, it seems Chanita is more into Jordan than he is her."
