Kym Marsh has bravely opened up about the devastating news that her father has been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer.
The 45-year-old featured in a powerful segment on Morning Live chatting with her dad Dave about his illness.
Sadly, his tragic diagnosis came about because of delayed checkups due to multiple lockdowns and the disease has spread to her dad’s pelvis, spine, ribs and left leg.
After the segment, Kym could be seen wiping away tears in the studio. She was joined by her co-star Gethin Jones, who said: "I'm absolutely in awe of him.
“I've said it before but I really am.
"He's so brave to share that and he just wants to get the message out there so somebody might see it and it might just help someone.”
Kym, who used to be in early Noughties band Hear’Say, added: "I'm proud of you dad.”
She went on to say that despite the awful situation Dave, 76, keeps making jokes to “keep his motivity up”.
Gethin added: "I'm sure he's proud of you too for making that film because as you said, it's going to make a huge difference to so many people."
Celebrity medic Dr Xand also joined them in the BBC studio and Gethin said to him: "The word that was interesting at the start of that film was Dave is stubborn.
"Like our dads are so stubborn to go and get help or to talk about it and seek help if they need it."

Dr Xand replied: "I just think a film like that will save lives. It's a brave thing to do to talk about your health, particularly.
"The thing that you [Kym] modelled was you as a family [talking about it]. You did so well and he's such a funny man but it's hard to watch."
Dave has a “target” of being able to walk Kym, who is engaged to Scott Ratcliff, down the aisle.
Kym said: "He is determined to walk me down that aisle. That's spurring him on."
Speaking to The Sun about the news, Kym said: "At this stage, doctors are talking about it being incurable.
"But it is treatable and the hope is that they may be able to extend his life – but by how much nobody really knowns and he is in discomfort."
