Lauren Goodger sparks TOWIE return rumours with night out with Essex star
Lauren Goodger has sparked rumours that she could return to The Only Way Is Essex after seven years after going on a night out with one of the cast.
The TV personality and model, 36, last appeared on the show in 2016, but left her role as a series regular in 2012. Since leaving the show, she has appeared in other TV shows such as Celebrity Big Brother, Dancing on Ice, and Celebs Go Dating.
But fans are now speculating whether Lauren could return to the show after going on a night out with current cast member Junaid Ahmed – who shared a photo of the two of them on his social media.
On Friday night, Junaid, 28, shared a photo of himself sitting alongside Lauren in the Sheesh Restaurant in Chigwell, captioning the post: "My girly @Laurengoodger" and putting a heart emoji.
Lauren replied to the post with a heart emoji in return, with the pair smiling while sat next to each other. Junaid also shared some short videos of the pair's food at Sheesh via his Instagram Stories.
This led to a strong response from fans, who pleaded with the current TOWIE star to get Lauren back on the show. Junaid joined the cast last year for Season 29 of the hit ITVBe show and has remained a regular on the show.
One fan wrote: "Lauren back in towie would be great", while a second added: "My two actual TOWIE faves".
A third person was more direct, commenting: "WE NEED HER BACK IN TOWIE!!!!"
Lauren originally left the show back in 2012 after facing intense scrutiny and criticism over her weight at the time – telling The Mirror at the she was under "so much pressure" and compared herself to the other "skinny" girls on the show.
She said: "We all had different body shapes, and I’m not being horrible, but I don’t like boob jobs or even want to be really thin. I just want to keep my curves and be a little more toned. But, next to the others, I’d be panicking over whether my arms looked fat or how big I’d look if I was sitting down."
Lauren faced a lot of criticism on social media at the time, also, with the TV star saying people "would poke fun at me about my weight because they know that's my weak spot".
However since then, she has found confidence in her body once again, and told OK! back in 2022 that she feels "stronger and healthier" after a "horrendous" year which saw her lose her second daughter, Lorena, during childbirth as well as the death of her ex Jake McLean in a car crash in Turkey.
She said at the time: "I’m a warrior and I always have been my whole life. I’m a survivor – and I want to be strong for Larose. She keeps me going.”
