Lewis Capaldi’s ex-girlfriend who inspired number one hit signs up for new series of Love Island – The Sun

LEWIS Capaldi's former girlfriend has signed up for the latest series of Love Island.

The Sun revealed last year that the pop sensation’s No1 ballad Someone You Loved was based on a painful break-up from fellow singer Paige Turley.

And sources last night confirmed that the pretty former Britain’s Got Talent contestant will be among the cast trying to find love on the ITV2 show.

One told me: “Paige is looking for love, and so when the team from Love Island approached her, she decided to take up the opportunity.

“Thanks to Lewis’s music, her relationship past has won her an awful lot of attention. So now she wants her relationship present to be in the spotlight.

“She is very excited about Love Island and is hoping she’ll find her perfect man.”

Lewis dated Paige — who appeared on BGT when she was just 14 — on and off from 2014 to 2016 after they met at college in Motherwell and became close.

After they finally split up, the devastated star channelled his heartbreak into hit album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.

Speaking previously about the inspiration for the record, Lewis said: “I met a lady. She was very nice. I loved her. I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke.

“We dated for a year and a half, then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day.”

And despite Lewis’s decision to remain tight-lipped about his former girlfriend’s identity, sources later named Paige as the ex who inspired him.

While she is now seeking love on television in a villa in South Africa, Lewis has launched his own campaign to discover romance on several online dating apps.

Let’s hope they both find the matches they are looking for.

Kylie's reddy for Kim

KYLIE JENNER is red hot when it comes to upstaging her big sis.

This week she scored more social media followers than Kim Kardashian for the first time.

And she made sure all eyes were on her in this fiery latex dress, paired with red gloves, eye shadow – and in a red room just for good measure.

Kylie, who posted the picture on Instagram, now has 156million followers on the site. Meanwhile, her sister can only manage 155million.

I imagine Kim is rooting through her wardrobe for a red catsuit as we speak.

Who's that with Fleabag?

PHOEBE WALLER-BRIDGE was the toast of the American Film Institute Awards in LA on Friday night – with everyone from Brad Pitt to Joaquin Phoenix clamouring to chat to her.

The writer, actor and director has plenty to celebrate at the moment, as her accounts reveal she made almost £500,000 after the second series of her hit comedy Fleabag last year.

The value of her company, PMWB, soared to £740,000 from £250,000 in 2018. But Phoebe recently revealed that Fleabag would not have seen the light of day if not for a drunken girl who approached her in London’s Leicester Square.

Recalling an incident after first performing her star character, she said: “This hammered girl came up to me and said, ‘That was so f***ing funny, you need to take that to Edinburgh’.

“It really changed my life. When we took it up to Edinburgh, my team and I kept saying, ‘We’re doing what the drunk girl prophesied’.”

Thank God, yet again, for booze.

JONATHAN ROSS joked that Simon Cowell is so desperate not to lose his Saturday night TV crown to new reality series The Masked Singer, he is secretly under every outfit.

Chat show host Jonathan is a judge on the ITV series – which launched last night – alongside Rita Ora, Davina McCall and actor Ken Jeong.

He also opened up about how TV has changed, saying hosts need to show “more warmth and less punching”.He said: “When we’re trying to reach a broad audience, you make sure it’s not too spiky.

“So what you do is punch yourself or punch someone who is more successful than you, which is why I love having Gordon Ramsay on my show. He’s one of the few men I can punch.”

He’ll be thrilled to hear that.

HARRY STYLES and Adele had the rumour mill churning yesterday when pictures emerged apparently showing the pair on holiday together in the Caribbean.

The pals were spotted by sharp-eyed fans who captured them in the same shot kicking back on a beach in Anguilla.

Adele, who was laughing and joking, showed off her slim new figure in a black and white dress. Meanwhile, Harry looked unusually casual in a grey T-shirt.

I’m now so used to seeing Harry in frills and flares that I almost didn’t recognise him.

But the pair, who are long-term friends, seemed to be having a great time.

DANCING On Ice beauty Maura Higgins has promised fans she will be showing off her assets on the show, saying: “I’d wear anything.”

But the 2019 Love Island contestant may need some help from the make-up team.

She said: “My eyes are bloodshot, I’m shattered, my body is aching. I’ve got cuts all over my legs from the blades, and so many bruises.”

With this week seeing a fresh cast of wannabes enter the Love Island villa, Maura is not worried about being overshadowed. She said: “I’ve got a lot of stuff coming up – I’ve had to turn stuff down.

“I wish everyone going into Love Island the best of luck. It’s a great opportunity for them.”

DUA LIPA’S romance with Anwar Hadid seems to be smooth sailing so far – as the pair enjoyed a spot of jet-skiing together this week.

The couple, who have been dating since June, soaked up the Miami sun as they took a spin on the waves.

And perhaps keen for a rest, New Rules singer Dua let Anwar – the brother of Bella and Gigi Hadid – do all the driving.

Well, what are holidays for if you can’t take it easy.

Pink digs deep for Oz battle

BIG-HEARTED

The disaster, which has so far claimed 23 lives and forced thousands to evacuate their homes, has seen fires burning across Victoria and New South Wales since September.

US superstar Pink announced yesterday that she was putting her hand in her pocket to support those battling to keep the deadly blazes at bay.

She wrote on Instagram: “I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires.

“I am pledging a donation of 500,000 dollars (£382,000) directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the front lines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz.”

Alongside the post, she shared the links to fire services in need of donations, including the New South Wales Rural Fire Service and the Victoria Country Fire Authority.

Meanwhile, Aussie favourites Kylie Minogue and Naomi Watts also took to social media to praise the fire services working tirelessly on the front line.

They need all the support they can get.
