Loose Women stars mortified over Janet Street-Porter’s affair with ‘total hunk’

Janet Street Porter leaves panel gobsmacked over affair admission

Loose Women regular Janet Street-Porter didn’t hold back on the latest episode of the ITV talk show as she made a candid admission about a risque affair with a “total hunk”. 

Panellist Ruth Langsford told viewers to “get comfy” ahead of Janet’s admission on the show. 

Janet confessed: “This is the only blind date I’ve ever been on and it took place quite a few decades ago. 

“A woman I was working with went to a bar and met this guy who she really fancied.”

He asked who she worked with and she said Janet’s name – and he really wanted to meet the outspoken Loose Women star who worked as a journalist. 

Janet continued: “She came into work the next day and she said, ‘Look, I’m only going to ask one favour of you ever, will you go on a blind date with this bloke because I really fancy him and he’s told me if you have lunch with him then he will take me out to dinner later on in the week’.”

Janet admitted she knew the whole situation “was a bit weird” to which her co-star Coleen Nolan replied: “How rude!”

Janet agreed to go on the blind date and chose a restaurant where no one she knew would bump into her.

She quipped: “I imagined he’d look like the back of a bus, but he went in and there was this total hunk.

“So I sat down, I didn’t want to look too keen, and one thing led to another…” 

The panellists’ jaws dropped and the audience gasped as Janet kept sharing the anecdote. 

She continued: “Obviously, I didn’t return to the office that afternoon and actually I ended up having an affair with him for about three months.”

Janet said she played down the situation to her friend who “fancied” the same man.

The ITV star quipped: “I told her, ‘He’s not my type’ and, ‘You’re welcome to him’.” 

She covered her face in shame as her co-stars were left in shock over the tale. 

Loose Women continues tomorrow at 12.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
