The Loose Women panel suffered a shock when the set collapsed live on air during Monday's episode.

Brenda Edwards, Coleen Nolan, Storm Keating and Jane Moore were fronting show, which saw them discussed the Euros fallout, ‘mum guilt’ about working and childcare, and what life would be like if they married their childhood sweetheart.

However, things temporarily descended into chaos when one of the panels situated behind the stars came out of its frame and clattered to the ground.

Coleen was seen jumping out of her skin as the loud bang was heard, before the camera panned out to reveal the panel falling over behind Storm.

“It’s not normally a health and safety nightmare like this, Storm!” Brenda assured her co-star, who is a new addition to the team.

Coleen also joked: “The budget on this show is off the scale!”

“The sticky back plastic is not working great, but don’t worry someone will secretly go backstage and fix that while Coleen talks,” Brenda then added.

Later on in the episode, Brenda confirmed that the problem had been fixed, thanking the team for jumping in during the ad break and putting the set back in place.

“I thought it was my husband breaking in not wanting to talk about my childhood sweetheart!” laughed Storm, referencing her husband, Ronan Keating.

During her appearance as a guest panellist, Storm spoke about her decision to give up her career in order to form a closer bond with her family.

Having previously worked as producer and director, Storm decided to be at home with her step-family more after Ronan's children asked her to "pull a sicky" in order to spend more time with them.

After discovering their request, Storm said she broke down in tears before deciding to step back from her work.

Ronan and Storm have now been married for six years, and have two children together – Coco, one and Cooper, four.

They join Ronan's three children from his previous marriage, Missy, Ali and Jack.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
