Love Island fans baffled as Demi claims she doesn’t know what asparagus is – The Sun

LOVE Island fans have been left fuming as Demi Jones claims she doesn’t know what asparagus is.

The redheaded bombshell made her debut on the show last night and was treated to a three course meal with each course lovingly prepared by her chosen Islanders.

But when Luke Mabbott presented her main course of chicken and asparagus she was left confused.

The 21-year-old, who has a degree in archaeology, appeared to struggle to identify the vegetable.

"How does this b***h on Love Island not know what asparagus is????????" one viewer tweeted.

"How come they don't know what asparagus is?" another confused fan asked.

"Is she pretending like she doesn't know what an asparagus is? Girl bye," another wrote.

"'What's this called, asparagus?' Ffs, these people are thick," another fan added.

"Whats this called……..asparagus? FML….can this bunch get any less intelligent? For the next few tasks they should do some home schooling!" an outraged fan tweeted.

Meanwhile, it wasn't even Luke M who made a big impression on Demi as she seemed head over heels for Nas Majeed.

The unlucky-in-love Islander seductively fed the new girl dessert as he enjoyed his first date in the villa.

Keen to impress, Nas pulled out all the stops in a bid to make his night with the stunning archaeology graduate memorable.

Before the date, Nas admitted: “I’ve got to pull out my A-game tonight. It’s been over two weeks and this is my first date.”

And it looks like he got it just right as he fedDemi his special dessert while getting to know her.

He said: “You’re actually stunning. Fiery, sexy… we’ll go with that for now.”

While one romance could be blossoming another comes to an end last tonight.

Leanne Amaning split from Mike Boateng and slept in the dog house after he gave her the "ick".

The 22-year-old was having second thoughts about her relationship with the copper.

She admitted to best pals Sophie Piper and Jess Gale that her feelings had changed.

Leanne told the girls: “I think I’m going to have to just lock it off with Mike. I think I just have to end it.

"I feel like I’ve given it time… It’s been two weeks, surely I should like him more than this?

"I feel like I’ve just got the ick.”

She added: “Maybe I shouldn’t have left it this long but genuinely I was trying, I wanted to like him, I wanted to catch feelings, but it’s just not coming.

"Now I’ve got the ick, everything he does actually annoys me.”

Sophie urged Leanne to pull Mike for a chat straight away.

They had been tipped to win, with viewers backing them as one of the strongest couples.

But doubts began to creep in for both over the last week.

Fans have been left upset about Leanne ending it with Mike.

One said: "Leanne is acting the way we all feared Mike would act. I hate to see it."

Another added: "There’s nothing wrong with Leanne cancelling Mike’s fancy. Nothing at all. These things can happen.

"But this girl is going around telling EVERYONE BUT HIM that she’s not feeling it any more."

Someone else hoped: "I'm really hoping Leanne is doing some bullshit secret challenge to secretly convince the others she's not into Mike because I'm not ready to see him get hurt tbh."
