Love Island fans shocked as four islanders are savagely dumped from the villa

Things took a dramatic turn for the worse on Thursday's Love Island, after Hugo Hammond, Amy Day, Clarisse Juliette and Sam Jackson were all savagely dumped from the villa, leaving Mary Bedford and Tyler Cruickshank to fight another day.

On Wednesday, islanders were summoned to the fire pit where they discovered that four of them were about to leave the villa with immediate effect.

After contestants realised that three couples received the lowest votes, islanders who were saved by the viewers had to chose one girl and one boy to stay.

The ladies had the horrible task of selecting the boy they wanted to keep, while the boys had to choose one of the girls.

After deliberating for a number of minutes, the boys decided to keep Mary and the girls chose Tyler to stay.

Discussing the boys’ decision Teddy Soares said: "It was a really hard decision because you’re all amazing girls."

Meanwhile Faye Winter also gave her take on the islander being saved and said: "We can honestly say the villa wouldn’t be the same without him."

Viewers at home couldn't believe the emotionally-charged scenes and took to Twitter to air their views on the unexpected dumping.

One fan penned: "Nah kinda sad Sam is leaving. He deserved a chance."

Another said: "It's better Clarisse leaves for her own sake anyway."

A third chimed: "Even though I knew it earlier I’m actually so sad that Hugo is leaving."

While another fan hoped Tyler was booted out instead: "I was hoping Tyler would go home."

Although Clarisse and Tyler seemed to hit it off while in Casa Amor, the couple's relationship became very strained quite quickly when they both made it back to the main villa.

Tyler, who was previously partnered with Kaz Kamwi before he headed to Casa Amor seemed to want to rekindle his relationship with her and confessed his feelings to Kaz and Clarisse on Wednesday night's show.

Disappointed by Tyler's action, Clarisse stormed off when he tried to have a conversation about it his feelings with her.

But with Kaz's current partner Matthew Macnabb still in the frame, will Tyler get his opportunity to recouple with Kaz?

Meanwhile, Hugo was unlucky in love for quite some time before he met brunette bombshell Amy in Casa Amor.

Love Island fans were pleased, as things finally seemed to be looking up for Hugo.

Despite this, on Wednesday's show Amy and Hugo appeared to hit a bump in the road.

Hugo complained to Teddy that he felt things were becoming "forced", whereas Amy told some of the girls that her beau Hugo failed to show her affection.

Though they patched things up later on, will their blossoming romance survive on the outside?

Bombshell Sam wasn't in the villa for too long and failed to spark a connection with any of the girls. Although he recoupled with Mary on Wednesday, the pair agreed that there was nothing romantic between them.

Poor Sam!

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2
