Part two of the supernatural comedy-drama series Lucifer will be airing soon, yet actor D. B. Woodside, who plays angel Amenadiel, is teasing fans about a shocking ending at the end of 5B. Is he suggesting that someone will die?
The hit Netflix series Lucifer follows the Devil, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), who abandons Hell for Los Angeles to start a nightclub.
As Lucifer begins consulting for the LAPD, alongside Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), Amenadiel arrives in LA looking for his brother.
Amenadiel tries to convince Lucifer to return to Hell, but both end up staying on Earth.
Star Woodside has recently dropped some major hints about what will happen next as fans wait for the arrival of part two of season five on May 28, 2021.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Woodside revealed that season five is “absolutely” the most emotional season of Lucifer thus far.
He added: “Dennis Haysbert, who plays good old dad, God, he’s going to be there all throughout 5B. His presence will be felt.
Woodside continued by saying that Haysbert is “incredible” in the scenes with all the actors, but especially in scenes with himself and star Tom Ellis.
“There are going to be incredible moments there.”
Kevin Alejandro, who portrays Dan Espinoza, shared Woodside’s exact sentiments regarding Haysbert’s casting.
“His presence is so huge,” Alejandro revealed to TV Line recently about his excitement of filming scenes with the new cast member.
Haysbert as God was first introduced in season five’s part one finale.
Perhaps God will be the one to die on the show, how will this affect Lucifer and Amenadiel going forward?
Woodside continued to discuss the forthcoming part two by explaining that the “daddy issues” raised when God arrives will greatly affect both Lucifer and Amenadiel.
He added that the issues need to be “cleaned up” and will be a struggle for both angels.
“Sometimes, the way to clean those up is you have to go through a little bit of pain and emotion and revelations,” he remarked.
Woodside later teased that there are certain moments that will hit fans hard in season five, part two.
He said that there’s “going to be something shocking that happens towards the end of 5B that is going to break everyone’s heart.”
Woodside did not reveal what would happen but promised that fans would be destroyed by the news when they see it.
Woodside told fans to “keep the faith” besides the news, as a sixth season is on its way.
He also teased that Amenadiel will find love in the show and that it happens “in a very different way”.
Amenadiel previously had a child with Doctor Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) after the two began a relationship. The angel stayed on Earth to raise the child with Linda.
“I think it’s going to make them very, very happy,” Woodside further teased, adding that his new love will “shock the fans”.
No matter who dies in Lucifer, the death will clearly affect the characters greatly, as it will the fans.
Lucifer seasons 4 and 5 are available on Netflix.
