Lucifer season 5 spoilers: Outlander star to join cast as Tom Ellis drops hint?
Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) has returned for a new series and many fans will have already binged the entire thing.
As the new run of episodes dropped on Netflix yesterday, lead star Tom took part in a Q&A session on his Twitter.
One of his replies saw his express how he’d like to work with Outlander actor, Sam Heughan.
It came as a fan asked: “@tomellis17 #lucifer would you like to have Sam Heughan on the show somehow as he’s awesome and done his part in saving the show.”
I will always welcome Sam with open arms
To which Tom cheekily replied: “I will always welcome Sam with open arms. And legs.”
Could it point to a cameo for the Jamie Fraser star in season five?
Supporters of the two of them certainly seem pleased at the prospect of the two acting together.
One fan replied to Tom’s answer: “Yes! Both of you on Lucifer would be sinful #fitnessgoals #handsome #SamHeughan #TomEllis.”
“Would love to see @SamHeughan on #Lucifer. Could he be an angel?” another pondered.
A third exclaimed: “I second that!! #Lucifer #LuciferSeason4.”
Although, it is yet to be announced whether there will be another chapter in the story.
The fourth series is the first to be released on Netflix after the streaming giant picked it up when Fox decided to cancel Lucifer after the third season.
All ten episodes of the fourth instalment were put out all at once on Netflix.
It was a big reduction from the third season which has a staggering 26 episodes.
When Fox announced the series would not be renewed last year, fans lobbied for the series to be saved from cancellation under the hashtag #SaveLucifer.
At the time, Sam supported the campaign as he shared to Twitter: “The finale!!! #SaveLuficer.”(sic)
Tom and Sam sparked rumours of a crossover last month when Sam congratulated Tom on the Lucifer season four promo.
Sam tweeted: “Think I’ve seen too much already…Haha. Yazzz buddy!!!!!”
To which Tom replied: “Just trying to keep up with you my friend.”
Lucifer season 4 is available to watch on Netflix.
