Meet EastEnders’ new bad boy James Farrar who is set to shake things up in Walford

Things are about to get even more exciting in Albert Square as EastEnders has announced a brand new bad boy who is set to shake things up in a big way.

It’s been revealed that actor James Farrar is joining the cast of the BBC soap later this year, and will be taking on the role of charismatic new character Zack Hudson.

And there will be plenty to keep fans on the edge of their sofas when he arrives, as bosses have teased that the troublemaker will certainly “ruffle a few feathers when he arrives in Walford.”

Speaking about joining the cast of the iconic soap and how excited he is to be stepping into the shoes of Zak, James said: “I’m thrilled to be joining EastEnders.”

“As a born and bred Londoner myself, I can’t wait to bring my experience of a place I love and know to such a well-respected long running show, with such iconic characters,” the actor continued.

He then went on to reveal more about his new alter-ego Zack.

He explained: “Zack certainly has a very complicated past and there is a real depth to him that I can’t wait to explore.”

While the show elaborated on his character further, explaining that he’s become a “lone wolf”.

Having had a difficult childhood growing up, Zack now finds it extremely hard to trust or rely on anybody.

On top of that, he’s also a bit of a ladies’ man, so it’s surely only a matter of time before he is turning heads and causing problems for some of Walford’s most famous residents.

The show’s Executive Producer Jon Sen EastEnders went on to tease: “James is a wonderful addition to the EastEnders cast, playing the charming rogue Zack Hudson.”

“We are all excited to see James bring the character to life and there’s plenty of drama in store for him – trouble is always just round the corner…”

James has previously appeared in popular shows, including BBC One’s long running hits Call The Midwife and Silent Witness.

The actor graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and will soon appear in another project entitled Blank Shores.

The soap’s new star will begin filming his debut EastEnders scenes this month, with his first on screen appearance to follow in March.
