VelJohnson’s character was a Chicago cop, a profession that’s become synonymous with most actor’s roles. In a 2015 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, VelJohnson joked about always playing a cop. “I don’t know what it is about me and this cop thing, but I get a lot of cop offers,” he told the magazine.
