Spoilers: Jack is broken as Denise joins forces with Phil in EastEnders

Jack Branning (Scott Malsen) was left upset in EastEnders tonight (October 23), as Denise Fox (Diane Parish) agreed to help Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in his mission to get Raymond Dawkins from Ellie Nixon (Mica Paris).

Denise was horrified when Phil popped round for a chat, as he informed her that Ellie isn’t who she thinks she is.

The Mitchell hard-man revealed the truth about Ellie’s identity — confirming that she’s a hardened criminal, and the accident which killed Raymond’s parents was a retaliation attack against her.

The realisation that Raymond is in danger was enough to make Denise think about Phil’s proposition, as he begged her to attempt to get custody of their son.

Jack pleaded with Denise to think this through, commenting that if Ellie is truly as dangerous as she sounds, then taking Ramyond from her could backfire dramatically, and put all of their lives in danger.

What’s more, they’d be forever tied to the Mitchells, which is something he doesn’t want.

However, in spite of Jack’s fears, Denise had little choice, as she was hellbent on protecting her son, and thus agreed to help Phil.

Jack was devastated when he discovered what she’d done. Denise begged him to support her, but will he ultimately do so?

EastEnders continues Monday October 26 at 8:05pm on BBC One.
