Spoilers: Phil and Callum join forces to save Ben in EastEnders?
If there’s one thing that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) have in common in EastEnders, it’s that they love Ben (Max Bowden) and would do anything to avoid him going to prison after he has been arrested for his role in the warehouse crime.
DI Thompson is keen to nail Danny Hardcastle (Paul Usher) but when Ben tried to set the villain up, it ended up backfiring and he was taken in by police. Now he is facing jail time so what can Phil and Callum do now?
Callum’s woes about Thompson’s offer continue as he overhears Phil and Ritchie discussing Ben’s arrest. Phil later confronts Callum and asks if he knew Ben’s plan to frame Danny all along.
Phil agrees he’s made mistakes and Callum is touched so he turns down Thompson’s offer. Thompson questions Callum standing by his man even if it means he will go to prison.
At the police station Ben is being questioned – they tell him his story can’t be verified and he’d be let go if he could come up with a convincing story.
Jay and Phil are talking about Ben’s case and at that moment Ben walks in – released under investigation. Ben assumes Callum got rid of the CCTV footage so they let him go.
But is everything as it seems of is Thompson setting them both up for a fall?
Phil is suspicious when he overhears Jack talking about colleagues being shocked that Ben walked free – he’d have put money on him being locked up.
Realising that something is amiss, Phil confronts Callum – but what will he learn? And will it lead to them joining forces to ensure that Ben doesn’t get sent down.
It’s certainly a big risk and Callum has a major decision to make.
