This Morning fans have shared their disappointment after discovering Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford won't be appearing on the show during half-term.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond would be taking over from Eamonn and Ruth to host Fridays on This Morning.

ITV also confirmed Eamonn, who recently shared a throwback snap of himself, and Ruth, both 61, would host the ITV daytime show during key holidays.

And now fans have been left disappointed to discover that, despite the previous announcement, the married couple will not be hosting the show during the May half-term.

A promo shown on Monday 24 May revealed Alison, 46, and 48 year old Dermot will be hosting instead.

Viewers demanded for Eamonn and Ruth, who were recently branded "uncomfortable" on the show, to host the programme and shared their disappointment on Twitter.

One shared: "We want Eamonn and Ruth next week, they usually do the holidays hope they are okay #ThisMorning".

Another added: "@thismorning originally stated @EamonnHolmes & @RuthieeL would be covering all school holidays, just seen announced will he Dermot & Alison next week, no disrespect to them but this is so disappointing #ThisMorning."

While a third quizzed: "I thought Eamonn and Ruth were doing the holidays? So why are Alison and Dermot presenting all next week? #ThisMorning."

A fourth echoed with: "Alison & Dermot are doing all of next week. I thought Eamonn & Ruth were doing holidays? #ThisMorning."

Another fumed: "Alison and Dermot all next week? Nah? That’s not the bloody deal! They said we’d get Eamonn and Ruth in the holidays so where are Eamonn and Ruth? This takes the biscuit #ThisMorning".

While a fifth urged: "#ThisMorning Dear @thismorning producers, we want Eamonn and Ruth back presenting on Fridays and holidays! Got it!! Ta."

Eamonn and Ruth have made a number of reappearances on This Morning after they were replaced as hosts for the Friday show, which has been met with delight by fans each time.

They hosted their last Friday show shortly before Christmas, after Alison and Dermot were confirmed as new hosts.

After their appearance, Eamonn said he and his wife were getting on with their lives in an Instagram video.

He told his followers: "Hi everyone, just want to say something to you all from the bottom of my heart and that is thank you.

"Ruth and I have been overwhelmed yesterday and today by the amount of messages and we'll be replying via social media, by emails, by texts, by Whatsapp, by whatever way we can.

"But can I just generally say thank you, thank you, thank you. We do feel the love, really appreciate it but stop it, stop it now."

Eamonn went on: "It's Christmas time, Mistletoe and Wine. We've all got things to do so thank you, get on with your lives, we certainly intend to get on with ours and look, things are looking up."
