Tragic Jeremy Kyle guest’s fiancée confirms his haunting last text message
Tragic Jeremy Kyle guest Steve Dymond's fiancee has revealed his haunting last text message sent hours before his death.
Just before his death Steve texted Jane Callaghan to say he could not face life without her.
She says she didn't know he was struggling at the time.
She told The Sun: "He kept texting me, leaving voicemails. In one text, he said, 'I can't live without you. I just wanted to come and see you. I just wanted to say sorry before I go. My life is not worth living without you".
Steve was 'confident' about the results of a lie detector test, taken on the show, before his untimely death, says his ex-fiancée Jane.
Jane told how Steve, 63, had even got a doctor’s letter confirming he was medically fit so he could take the show’s test in an effort to convince her he had not been unfaithful.
Jane, who claims Steve had been diagnosed with depression, told the Sun: “He wanted to go on. He was really excited and confident.
“But it was all a front and I knew it. He wasn’t well at all.”
She insists she doesn't blame the show for what happened to Steve and says the team had been "brillliant" and there when Steve needed help.
The couple split up a week ago but had previously been together for two years and Janes says she still loved him even though he was a "pig" to her.
Describing him as a "kind and loving person" Jane told how to couple got engaged at Christmas 2017.
And she says that while she can't forgive him for cheating on her, she desperately wishes he was still alive.
Jane told The Sun : “He was quietly struggling, and we didn’t know at the time. He cheated on me, I know he did. I can’t forgive but I just want him to be alive.”
Steve's ex claims he lied to her throughout the relationship but that she did suspect he was sleeping with someone else.
She added:" I did some digging and found out he was a compulsive liar. I pulled him up on it.
Jane says Steve convinced her he wasn't cheating just before they went on the show.
She added that he had been making plans.
“He was making all these plans and he was so confident.”
Jane said she told him she now believed that he had not cheated — but says he insisted they still go on the show.
She now believes he had underlying health issues for a long time.
Jane said Steve was diagnosed with depression when their relationship hit the rocks in February.
Jane insists Steve had never been diagnosed with depression before and despite being prescribed medication didn't take any of them.
She added: It was all for my benefit because I said he needed help. When we went back the doctor said, ‘You look fine and happy’.
"Steve said he wasn’t depressed and said we were trying to work it out.
“Then we paid for that letter to get on to the show.”
Jane praised Jeremy Kyle’s team for their aftercare efforts. She said show representatives made repeated attempts to contact dad-of-one Steve after his appearance.
She said: “They were brilliant. They were there when he needed help. They were really persistent in offering him help.
“Steve liked to be a comedian and he could be very funny. He liked the attention.”
