Barack Obama's half-brother Malik brands Tucker Carlson 'fake news' after host snubs Trump lawyer rigged election claims
BARACK Obama's Trump-supporting half-brother has branded Tucker Carlson as "fake news" and the "master of bait and switch" after the anchor cast doubt on the president's "rigged election" claims.
Malik Obama, the former president's Kenyan-American older sibling, hurled personal insults at the Fox News host on Saturday in a series of tweets.
"@TuckerCarlson IS FAKE NEWS SQUAD!" he wrote in one tweet.
In another, he claimed the conservative commentator is the "master of bait and switch."
Obama hit below the belt and called Carlson a "super c**k" before asserting that "The TUCK has been C**KED."
"Plain as day. Without a shadow of a doubt," he said to end his rant.
Obama bashed Carlson on Twitter two days after the Fox News anchor criticized Trump attorney Sidney Powell and called out the lack of evidence to back up her assertions of widespread voter fraud.
He appeared to challenge her allegations that Democrats used voting software to steal eight million votes from Trump on Election Day – even though he previously backed the president in his battle to contest the election result.
Powell refused to send him evidence supporting her claims despite several requests from Tucker Carlson Tonight.
"When we kept pressing, she got angry and told us to stop contacting her," Carlson said in the Thursday segment.
"When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people in positions of authority, they told us Powell has never given them any evidence either, nor did she provide any today at the press conference."
After taking heat on social media for his comments, he released an update to his Powell segment on Friday.
But several people continued to slam Carlson on social media, including Powell herself, who retweeted criticisms of his Thursday night segment
Trump's former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn said Carlson wasn't being "genuine" with his comments.
Flynn even suggested that Carlson wasn't a "real journalist."
"@TuckerCarlson you are not being genuine in how you represented yourself to @SidneyPowell," he tweeted.
"Go do some street journalism and ask the tough questions yourself. Why the hell not!?"
In his updated clip, Carlson said that Powell's refusal to give up evidence doesn't mean she's lying.
"It doesn't mean it didn't happen," he said.
"It might have happened. It means they haven't seen any evidence that it happened. And by 'they,' we are including other members of Donald Trump's own legal team."
