Fox News is most-watched network overall for 2020 election coverage
Fox News aired the most-watched coverage of the 2020 presidential election overall so far, with a record-setting 13.7 million viewers tuning in on Tuesday night, according to reports.
But CNN surpassed Fox News for primetime viewership on Wednesday night, with 7.12 million viewers, Deadline said in reporting election broadcast ratings.
In all, 56.9 million people watched Tuesday evening’s election coverage across 21 cable and broadcast networks, down from the 71 million who watched the 13 networks available on Nov. 8, 2016, Deadline said.
NBC News is beating ABC and CBS, with 3.41 million viewers tuning in to their three-hour primetime coverage Wednesday night.
All cable and broadcast networks are reporting significant gains in digital viewership for this election, Deadline said, citing Neilsen ratings.
Viewership will stay high Thursday night, as election news coverage focuses on the final vote counts in battleground states Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona, the website predicted.
