Man and woman in their 30s are killed and child is rushed to hospital when their Peugeot is in A-road crash with Mercedes

A man and woman in their 30s were killed and a child was hospitalised after a crash on the A165. 

Officers were called to a collision between a black Mercedes GLA and a red Peugeot 2008 at a junction of the Grindale Road at 3.30pm on Friday.

The driver and passenger of the Peugeot, a man and a woman in their 30s, died at the scene, Humberside Police revealed. 

A child travelling in the car was taken to hospital as a precaution after suffering minor injuries.

The woman who was driving the Mercedes sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in a serious condition. 

A police spokesman said: ‘The families of the deceased are being supported by specially trained officers and our deepest sympathies are with them at this extremely sad time.

‘We are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle prior to the collision to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 338 of 7 May 2021.’
